Amazing staff, the property manager was extremely helpful and helped me work out a way for my pickup driver to find the location. They are right next to Philae Marina and provides a convenient way to start your day going to the island. I highly recommend this location.
Mixed Experience: Great Rooms, Disappointing Break
Our family had a great time at Endo Mando overall. We booked two waterfront view rooms, and although there was an issue at check-in where one of our rooms was placed in the back, the staff resolved it after we pointed out that we had paid for riverfront views.
The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the waterfront view was beautiful. However, the breakfast was disappointing. When we asked for coffee, we were told they only had cappuccino. Later, we were unexpectedly charged 100 Egyptian pounds for two cups of cappuccino, even though we weren’t informed that it was not included in the "free breakfast."
While the rooms and overall stay were enjoyable, better transparency about breakfast charges and improvements to the breakfast offerings would make the experience much better.
I made a reservation for this accommodation 4 months in advance, but on the day, they were overbooked and I was taken to another accommodation, "Nubian guest house". I didn't know what it is going on and they didn't explain anything to me. Of course, they didn't apologize either. I heard about this from the Nubian guest house. They said that this happens often and they send guests who don't have rooms. I had a bad feeling because I contacted the facility many times before my trip but didn't get a reply, and it turned out to be true. However, Nubian guest house is a family-run facility and everyone was very kind. Although I had problems communicating in English, I was able to communicate with them using gestures. They are not registered with Expedia, but they have a page on Facebook. I think you should avoid Endo Mando.
I enjoyed my stay at Endo Mando. The staff Hamdi, Sara and Ahmed were very helpful. I had lost luggage with egyptair and Sara was able to speak to the airlines when I was at the airport. I continued to call on her support when the luggage was delivered to the guesthouse. Hamdi is one of the partners and he was helpful in getting me my luggage, communicating my needs, getting me refreshments and checking in to my room which had a lovely view of the water. I came during the slow season so it was quiet. The next day Hamdi arranged for a ferryman to take me to Philae Temple which was amazing and very close to the guesthouse. The rooms are quaint and well kept. The shower is near the toilet in the room I was on (7). There is lots of space to stretch out in the public rooms and the rooms with a view have a cute patio. Hamdi also introduced me to an app ( InDrive) which is like uber accept you can bid a price you are willing to pay for your ride. I left then to spend a lot more money up a newer hotel that is much further away. I would stay at Endo Mando again. It is centrally located, very laidback scene and you have the feel that you are in a Nubian village which I enjoyed.
Upon arriving at Endo Mondo, we were a bit skeptical. We were 5 females traveling and it was night. When we first arrived it was dark and seemed sketchy. However when we went the person who was managing the property during this time, his name is Helmy, he made us feel better. He was very helpful and basically took care of us for the rest of our one night stay until the following afternoon . Helmy was very attentive of our needs.. he gets 5 stars.
We were taken up three flights of stairs to get to the tiny room and bath they put us in. The patio door did not latch. We did not stay. The place we were did not look like the pictures on their Expedia page. My husband is disabled. The stairs were inconsistent and dangerous. We never saw a restaurant or an elevator. Both are listed as amenities.
