Used it as a day hotel after safari... it took 90 minutes to get food at the restaurant so it used up nearly all of our lay over time. I was also told I needed to book two rooms (traveling with kids) for our 2.5 hr (yes, thats correct) stay. I would suggest Four Points Sheraton instead for a lay over hotel

An absolutely stunning hotel but let down by poor communication. I booked a room on red level for the benefit it offered. On arrival, I went to check in, was told it won’t be long at all. Then waited an hour and a half while checking multiple times how long it would be. Was then told that they were giving me an upgrade to another room and that’s why it took so long. Turns out it was actually due to them having the red lounge closed for renovation but did not communicate this to me in advance. I spent over $850 for one night for my husbands birthday and was let down. The whole check in process was awful. The pool and outdoor areas are absolutely gorgeous, so nice to walk through. Unfortunately they were removing tiles outdoors so a lot of banging and crashing was ruining the serenity. Room was good however the air conditioning in the bedroom did not stay cold. Bathroom vanity is unsealed so looks very dirty due to water stains. Buffet breakfast and dinner was amazing. Food was delicious. So many options available.

This is a best in class stay! We have traveled the world, staying in the high-end luxury options to the budget-friendly finds. The Arusha Gran Melia is definitely top tier. The spa experience is a must (shout out to Olivia and Freda, just amazing!) so treat yourself upon first arrival; your body will be so thankful for the healing arts. Staff are pleasant and helpful, food is diverse and excellent, and the bed/sheets ensure a deep sleep. We are so glad we changed plans slightly to enjoy restorative days at the Gran Melia! Highly recommended.

Get the mountain view for sure!

Beautiful property! A little pricy for what you get as a 5star hotel, I think what you pay for is the view. I arrived late evening and when I was finally showered and ready to sleep I saw dozens of fleas all over my headboard. Not sure why or where they came from, and after housekeeping came up and offered to fumigate, we decided it was better to switch rooms entirely. It was a very simple swap and I'm grateful that it was easy. The rest of my stay was great. Lunch options were minimal, but the morning breakfast buffet is incredible and I would need a month just to explore all the options! I would definitely stay here again for the experience.

Le personnel est très aimable et accueillant. On sent que l'hôtel est bien géré. J'aurais aimé un peu plus d'options vegan dans les restaurants (attention de ne pas confondre vegan et végétarien). Je reviendrai sans hésité.
