"We were made to feel welcome on arrival, the pub is very old with plenty of character, the room was basic but adequate. The bar had a good choice of beers including reel ale. The breakfast was lovely."

"There seems to be no mobile phone coverage at the County Lodge Carnforth. When I arrived at 8.30pm 25/5 the door was locked shut, the place was in darkness and a note attached to the door said to phone a mobile number to gain code keys and access BUT their number failed to ring. "It’s a majestic and beautiful property which has been tastefully decorated. We stayed in the family room (2 adults and a teenager) and it was huge and lovely. The only criticism would be about the bathroom…the shower pressure and no shelving in the shower or bath to put your products on (very minor though). We can’t speak highly enough of all the staff from the reception, to the restaurant/breakfast and bar. A special mention to Brendan who made one of the nicest Espresso Martinis I’ve ever...

"A lovely pub with a stunning beer garden and direct access to the canal path for walks to Carnforth Morecambe and Lancaster. Only issue was the heat in the room which I appreciate it was unusually hot but room 3 also has a large noisy extractor fan outside the window so it was either heat or noise. The fan does get turned off at night. Would still stay again and the food was excellent."
