Our stay was fantastic. Food was good. Wine glass was poured heavy and inexpensive. Room had lots of space . View of vinyard was excellent. Definitely would go back.

We were in the rustic rooms and they were so dimly lit that we couldn't really see. The heated indoor pool was nice.

Beautiful escapist property with a modern design settled amidst the vineyard. Excellent food. Beware however this property is one hour outside the "heart of Douro Valley" and the majority of wineries.

The staff and service is excellent. The individual rooms are a distance away from the lobby/restaurant, which I didn’t like so much. That, however, is secondary to the excellent staff and the large comfortable rooms. The wine tasting was extremely well done.

Service was fantastic . Glass of bubbly when you walk in the door. We stayed in room 37 and loved the two balconies. The food was amazing. We had the tempura octopus and duck magret. Very delicious dishes that felt like a Michelin star experience. The hotel was very accommodating to our young child as well. If you’re looking for a great hotel in a beautiful vineyard with fantastic food and wine, then Monverde Hotel is where you should stay.

This was an absolutely lovely experience! Loved that they were accommodating to families travelling with children. Our son loved the juice tasting alongside our wine tasting experience. The staff member presenting to us was very knowledgeable, so sweet and kind! We had a few minor hiccups when checking into the room, however they were tended to very quickly and resolved without hassle. We loved the property, all the meals were excellent. Overall such a fabulous addition to our Portugal vacation!

We loved our stay on this enchanting site. The site is magnificent. Our room was breathtaking. The staff is friendly. The breakfast is very good. Only downside: we chose to had diner at the hotel restaurant and we were very disappointed with this part of our experience. The service, food and wine were disappointing.

We loved our stay at the Monverde Wine Experience Hotel. The property was amazing, beautiful, quiet and fabulous accommodation. The spa was very relaxing and the bar and restaurant were wonderful. The bar staff are very knowledgeable about their wines and know exactly what wines will suit your palette. The tasting menu for dinner with wine pairing was delicious with very attentive and knowledgeable staff. The Wine Tasting Experiences we did were one of the best - thank you so much Sofia! We found all the staff to be so friendly, polite and helpful always going over and above. Thank you so much for our wonderful stay.

My wife and I spent two nights at Monverde Wine Experience Hotel in October 2025 and it was a fantastic experience. The grounds are beautiful, and even though the harvest season had finished, the property was spectacular. They welcome you with a glass of sparkling wine which is a nice touch. The property is comprised of several original buildings all renovated. We selected a prestige room and had one other room in our hallway. The room was huge! It overlooked the vines with a nice wood deck to relax. The breakfast at the restaurant was fantastic!! (See photos) We didn't stay for dinner as we prefer to drive in to the towns so I can't comment on the dinner. The pool area is small but has enough seating for 20 or so guests. We weren't there for the pool (only heated by sun outside) but grabbed a few hours at the end of the day and visiting wineries. They have a nice bar. If you want a seat get there early. The location means the pool is always in the shade while we were there in October. Staff were fantastic. I reached out in advance for recommendations and they assisted. They even helped make a reservation for us in the town of Amarente. I would highly recommend this hotel for a couple days in the Vinho Verde Region. Only thing which could be improved upon, was the wine tasting experience we booked. There are 5 wines paired with small tastings. It had a short tour. Unlike tours at wineries, this was lacking and could have been better. Their wines are nice, but as a group

Beautiful hotel, very mixed experience. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful. The things they get right - like golf cart transportation to and from your room, they do very well. The things they get wrong are extremely perplexing for a hotel of this caliber. Sadly, aside from the breakfast buffet, the food is mostly inedible. As other reviews mention, steer clear of the tough tempura Octopus. The cod burger was like something from the great depression. They even managed to mess up a ham and cheese sandwich (hard bread, flavorless.) Shockingly bad. The overall feel of the hotel was “stuffy” - in many cases things were not well explained and you felt like you were bothering staff when asking. We received no welcome drink, a young lady was sent to bring bags up to our room that were almost half her size (we ended up bringing them up… invest in a proper porter.) But the worst was the spa/pool experience. The spa staff controls the outdoor and indoor pool, and boy are they miserable. The pools are open til 8 but the staff will start packing up chairs around 6:30, drawing dirty looks at anyone left on a lounger. They also are VERY keen on enforcing indoor pool swim cap rules then turning around and wanting to charge you 3 pound 50 for them. It comes off as very rude and tacky - and likely why the indoor pool remains largely unused. The restaurant staff was kind and wonderful. You can get a great omelet at breakfast (though no one will tell you.) Beautiful place, shoddy service
