"The staff were very kind and welcoming. They helped us store our bags and get breakfast as we arrived early. The only downside was the cleanliness. The view from the bedroom was beautiful! The dishwasher was filthy when we arrived and we tried to turn it on the clean it but could not turn it on. The washing machine also did not look clean. Some of the furniture is stained and the bathroom connected to the bedroom was run down and washing faucet was not secure on the wall."

"Lovely hotel in a great position in Alfama, can get to most places on foot if you can handle the hills/steps. Staff were really friendly and helpful particularly Carol on breakfast duty and Cape and Sara on front desk.
Gym and spa area are a bit limited but with all of the walking the gym wasn’t really necessary.
Breakfast was really good with a range of options and choice of a variety of egg-based dishes also available. A revelation for me was the availability of chilled port! I’ve only ever...

"Basic hotel. Rooms clean but small. Bathroom in need of a little maintenance. No bar and outside courtyard space very disappointing. Didn’t take breakfast at €15 each - instead used the excellent ‘Breakfast’ lovers, a few minutes walk away.
Staff on front desk friendly and helpful when asked.
Hotel in very good central location, but on a steep hill. Very quite within the hotel, except the rumble of the 28e tram."

"Very spacious 2 BR, 2BA apartment with conveniences such as washer/dryer, full kitchen, Nespresso machine, air conditioning, etc. The building is well-located in an area that was quiet at night, but within walking distance of more active neighborhoods and is walkable to historical sites.
The front desk staff was very friendly and fluent in English. They were helpful with our bags and advice on sightseeing. Check-in/check-out was a breeze.

"The hotel is nice and the bed was very comfy. How ever we arrived pretty much empty handed because the airline delayed our luggage. We told the girls up front about it. The luggage got there the night of and no one told us. I called the next morning at 9am and I had to ask if the luggage’s were there and they receptionist, said yes since last night. I think it would had been nice and courteous, for them to have called us as they arrived."

"The property is right in the middle of Alfama which makes it beautiful, but incredibly hilly. Tram 28 runs right outside and it goes throughout the night and can get quite noisy - I sleep with earplugs and they did the job! Aside from the tram, it’s a nice and quiet neighborhood with great restaurants and shops nearby with incredibly kind workers."

"Really enjoyed our stay, the peacocks were noisy and beautiful and we even enjoyed that! The hotel is beautiful and quiet. The staff is friendly and helpful! A bit of a walk uphill if you come back with a taxi or Uber but nothing to complain about. We will be back soon!"

"The place was in fine shape, and the staff were helpful! The property isn't going to "wow" you, but the location is absolutely perfect if you plan to spend time in the Alfama area. Very walkable to most of the main tourist attractions, and many lovely cafes and good restaurants."

"The room was very spacious. Hotel is very unique in it location. Be aware that you need to get a specific driver to get up very steep Hill and restaurants closed down around the hotel pretty early. It turns into a ghost town in the evening, quite different from the day!"

Expedia says 2 minute walk to Castle. Not true. Is another 15-20 minute hike uphill.
