And while not a nightly occurrence, having howler monkeys howling the first evening really set the tone to remind me I wasn't in California. "The hotel was pretty modern and new. The double suite was very large and beautiful. It was a pretty quiet, family business and the staff was so nice and accommodating. It felt like staying with family. The food was delicious as well. The area is pretty isolated, but a short cab ride can take you to town for groceries and restaurants. Super refreshing and pretty pool, and the beds were SO comfortable. "

"The property was much newer and hence in a better shape than the other hotel in the area. The place is well located bang in the center of the town with easy access to everything. The aircon was good, there is a fridge in the room and there is a rooftop pool. There is also a microwave and coffee in the common area The negative is that no breakfast is served. There are many restaurants within meters of the place."

"The landscaping of this property is amazing and the pool was great. You get to see animals, birds, and plants native to the area. All the staff was friendly and the on site restaurant had great food and drinks. The Cahel Pech ruins is this resorts neighbor so you can walk right to it. Be mindful, it is on top of a steep hill. I highly recommend and would return."

"This is such a beautiful property that really immerses you in the nature of San Ignacio. Rose cooked fresh breakfast everyday that was absolutely delicious, and her and her husband were super kind. I also rented a car from Rod, who was also super nice, so I had such a smooth experience getting from place to place. "I have been coming back to Cahal Pech resort for every year and seen this place worn down by time… Very sad. Bernadette in the front desk is very helpful. All staff are friendly. The view keeps me staying, but other amenities are very old and everything is overpriced. Lots of bugs in my room."

"Clean, quiet, and inexpensive option convenient to everything in San Ignacio. The manager, Hugo, was on site and very helpful during our stay. The kitchen area was well stocked with dishes and utensils and was nice to have available. AC worked well in the rooms and it was a relief to have the option to cool off at the end of each day.
