Chance au Roy is situated in the countryside outside Aigneville. The accommodation is part of an estate, the owners living in a chateau the accommodation is in the grounds. It’s a beautiful setting but in need of some restoration. When we arrived we had a lovely welcome from Elizabeth the owner, she hadn’t been expecting us, despite booking ,but showed us a room that was available. It was large and very comfortable with a big sitting room off of the bedroom. The sitting room lead into a kitchen, where breakfast was served. Off of this was our bathroom. This was the problem, on waking in the morning, we had to go through the kitchen where guests were having breakfast to use the bathroom. There were screens but still a complete lack of privacy. We paid £180 for 2 nights and would have expected more privacy. The owner was lovely, the room clean and comfortable. It was just the bathroom issue we didn’t like. Breakfast was croissant, bread and yoghurt and fresh coffee. Basic but fine.

Bienvenue au château les gueux !

Cadre très bucolique au milieu des bois et champs. Les ânes sont très affectueux et les chevaux très prétentieux. C'est un peu la différence notoire entre les bourgeois et les gens du peuple ou les chatelains et les paysans... CQFD. Le petit déjeuner gagnerai à être proposé sous forme de buffet offrant plus de choix et le café expresso serait le bienvenue.

Weekend en baie de somme et ses environs

Nous avions passé 2 nuits dans un cadre merveilleux où calme, sérénité, confort de la chambre, un petit déjeuner digne d'un grand Hotel, sont les maîtres mots du lieux. Et tout ceci pour un prix inférieur d'un formule 1. A partir du domaine, on peut visiter en moins d'une demis heurs les sites magnifiques que sont la baie de somme et ces villages,) et un peu plus loin Amiens et sa cathédrale Illuminée, Merci encore à Elisabeth et à ces personnelles pour ces deux jours, on y reviendra.
