Room was clean and comfortable, a bit dated, but charming. The hotel was lovely and the staff were amazing. The view of Loch Maree was sensational.

The view was truly outstanding- the room really comfortable and food delicious. The No coffee or marmalade at breakfast and no water in basin bath or loo in the morning which I’m sure they were trying to fix.

Great location and very beautiful Loch Maree view from the rooms. Comfortable and cozy hotel with interesting heritage. Very hospitable and friendly staff. Duncan is a great host and makes one feel right at home. Highly recommend.
My friend and I stayed at Loch Maree Hotel for a night before we went over to the Isle of Skye and our experience was amazing! Duncan was so sweet and funny and made the stay memorable. The views of the lake are beautiful and everyone else staying at the hotel were friendly and loved to chat. The food was delicious, we had dinner and breakfast - both great. I wish we could have stayed longer! Next time I'll have to bring a boat that's not filled with water to explore the lake.

This is essentially a B&B being labelled as a hotel.
Staff were thin on the ground, but the food was fine.
The family room was disappointing with no proper shower facility and tired decor.
This is a little gem of a hotel in a beautiful setting. Recently refurbished and great staff. Highly recommended.

Worth it for the views
Loch Maree was a fabulous location. Staff were helpful breakfast was good. Dining room had limited space. Views were amazing. This hotel needed a few more staff and some updating. It was though quite remote and this would be a challenge. In all though nice place to stay.
The hotel had such charm and I am amazed with the three staff members we chatted with that was keeping up the whole place. This hotel cannot be compared to modern hotels these days; and I wouldn't want to. The Lock Maree has a bar and restaurant on site; which I would highly recommend having dinner and breakfast. The staff was so nice and helpful. We walked the grounds in the afternoon and had such a lovely, quiet, peaceful time at the hotel. Highly recommend and I can't say much more about this place except you have to stay a night or two at least.
Amazing location, unbeatable loch views. Onky downside we had was promised breakfast in bar so we could have dog with us, this wasnt set up. When i approaches staff they said they would get this sorted asap but forgot about us. We ended up putting dog in car and having breakfast in main dinning room, but by this point bread, juice and cereal was limited. Felt this put a but of a dampner on the stay. Perhaps two servers on at breakfast woukd have been helpful.
Really lovely hotel with cosy lounge with open fire-perfect venue for colder autumn nights. Room was lovely and everywhere seemed freshly painted. Food was good with large portions. Beautiful view and well worth staying for a few days. Very much the Victorian country house hotel.
A fabulous location for a hotel that is going to be a huge success.
The rooms need a bit of updating but were comfortable and had a great nights sleep.
Food was fabulous and the manager/bellboy/waiter/receptionist/barman was a pleasure to deal with. His service and attention to detail was absolutely first class
Fabulous views over loch maree. Stayed during NC500 road trip. Quiant hotel. Waiter service for meals. (Lovely to be waited on)
Water comes from waterfall nearby so water pressure for shower is poor, but ok for a bath. But wouldn’t stop me from returning.
Staff very welcoming and polite.

Tired but functional - a work in progress!
It is in a beautiful location. The Manager was extremely helpful and friendly but he was the only member of staff front of house. It has just been taken over so hopefully things will improve. The whole place was tired and needs some TLC.
We have travelled and stayed in too many hotels to count. There have so far been 2 that have stood out in our minds as giving excellent service. The Loch Maree has jumped to number one. Duncan who welcomed us, was fantastic. He surpassed any previous number ones! He could not do enough to help and make sure that we were comfortable and had all that we needed. When the Callan, came back from his holiday, he again was lovely, helpful and kind, but Duncan had already taken the top spot. The food was very good. We noticed that some people complained about the lack of choice. It is the end of the season and hotels are closing down, so naturally the choice will be a bit less. Each night there was a couple of different choices, from the night before. Had absolutely no complaint about the food, presentation and flavours.
The best part of this hotel was the view over the Loch
The hotel seemed to be run by only two people one was the chef and the other man was in charge of the reception, bar and served dinner and for all I know probably cleaned the rooms.! he was however very friendly and helpful.
The problems I found with this hotel were that the room was expensive for what you got,I guess you pay extra for the view and also £6 for a bottle of beer is excessive.
One of our main complaints was that the water coming out of the taps was brown and on querying it with the man of many jobs we were told that it came from the Loch and went through filters and was safe for us.Needless to say we did not wash that night. For these reasons I would not recommend using this hotel
Having traveled around England and Scotland, we found the staff to be friendly and willing to answer questions with patience and a friendly smil for a foreigner. Not so here.
The bathroom was not very nice. With a tub, handheld shower and a note to only use shower for hair washing. My husband cannot sit in a tub, so that meant no washing for him. The hose and shower head did not look very clean, so none for me either.
The toilet handle was ready to fall off and wouldn’t stop running when flushed. My husband did get it to shut off.
The breakfast was included, but had very little. So different than other places.
So far in our trip, this is the worst place we stayed.
Very disappointed.
