Wir sind in Matera von Martino sehr herzlich empfangen worden. Das Zimmer war fantastisch. Es hat einen toller Blick auf die Schlucht und ist bis ins das letzte Detail sehr hochwertig ausgestattet. Das Frühstück war mit Abstand das beste, welches wir in Italien hatten. Martino hat uns jeden Morgen super Tipps zum Erkunden von Matera gegeben. Außerdem ist es super praktisch, dass ganz nahe dran öffentliche Parkplätze zur Verfügung stehen, da es sonst eher schwierig ist, das Auto zu parken. Wir waren während unseres Aufenthaltes auch noch mehrfach mit dem Auto in der schönen Umgebung und haben jedesmal wieder sofort einen freien Parkplatz gefunden. Vielen Dank an Martino für die tolle Zeit in Matera.

This is a wonderful B&B in Matera. It is very unique, and the owner is kind, knowledgeable, accommodating, and fun! The B&B is lovely. I highly recommend it.

This is a lovely boutique hotel that is newly renovated to take advantage of the unique caves in Matera. There is a beautiful view over the gorge. We spent 3 nights here and the lovely owner spent time with us each day curating a perfect itinerary for seeing Matera. There was free parking nearby. The room was spacious and comfortable, and breakfast was good. It’s about a 10 min walk into the main part of town, but it’s nice to be on the edge with the view and it’s super quiet.

We had a great stay at L'antica Conceria, Martino is an amazing host, and made our two night stay in the historic part of Matera very special. Apartments are modern, comfortable, and tastefully furnished, breakfast prepared and served by Martino is excellent. Location is perfect, right opposite from a pay car park which we used for our two days, with a peaceful small garden and amazing views over the river gorge. Martino’s knowledge of the historic city and its history made our stay very special. We highly recommend L'antica Conceria for your stay in Matera.

Lovely stay

Martino made this hotel experience wonderful, and his knowledge and passion for the history of Matera are impressive. The hotel is located at the top of a hill, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, with views of the gorgeous canyon. Our room was nice and clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay at L'antica Conceria.

This place was absolutely perfect. The views from the terrace were beautiful and scenic...picture perfect. The room was AWESOME. It looked like a cave and did not have any weird smells. Our little one loved the cave style. The room was comfortable and very clean. The staff could not have been more helpful. We were greeted to show us where to park, which was so convenient. The general parking was around the corner and the cost was 10 euros per day, not bad at all. The staff even took the time to explain and oriented us about the must see places, they even gave us a map...thank you so much. The hotel was an easy walking distance to the main plaza with a lot of restaurants and stores. They even offer delicious breakfast! I absolutely recommend this hotel. I would give them 10 stars if I could. Worth every penny.

Fantastisch!

Onze host Martino was zeer aardig en nam echt de tijd om ons in kennis te stellen wat Matera en de omgeving te bieden had. Zowel op cultureel, culinair en avontuurlijk/actief vlak wist hij ons te informeren. Met google translate wist hij alles duidelijk over te brengen. Erg leuk!

Martino greeted us so warmly and was so helpful. He is a good man and gives excellent value. But please carefully follow his directions as his house is otherwise very hard to find. He will meet you at the public parking garage across from the slope that leads to his house.

Wir hatten einen wundervollen Aufenthalt in der Conceria, die familiär und sehr gut gelegen ist. Sehr gutes Frühstück. Absolutes Highlight: der Gastgeber Martino, der mit seinen zahlreichen Tips dafür gesorgt hat, dass wir alles Sehenswerte in Matera gesehen haben und eine wundervolle Zeit dort verbracht haben. AMAZING PLACE

This is a great place not only for its location, view and history behind it (used to be a tannery), but most importantly for Martino, the host. What a great person! Martino was a great communicator, guide, historian, and entertainer and made our stay a fantastic one. The rooms were impeccable and very well decorated. Breakfast was abundant and fresh. We will definitely come back. This place is highly recommend it!

Wir wurden sehr herzlich von Martino in seiner wunderbaren Unterkunft empfangen und bekamen gleich nach unserer Ankunft viele Informationen um uns einen ersten Überblick über diese faszinierende Stadt zu verschaffen. Jeden Morgen, nach einem sehr guten Frühstück erhielten wir weitere wertvolle Tipps von Martino um die Stadt von allen Seiten zu erkunden. Von der Unterkunft aus ist man in wenigen Minuten zu Fuß im Zentrum. Wir konnten unser Auto während unseres Aufenthaltes direkt gegenüber in der Parkgarage für 10 € täglich sicher parken. Martino ist genau so einzigartig wie Matera - besser geht es nicht

What to say about this place , the people really make the place very welcoming and always willing to help. The Welcoming was super by Martin then we was introduced to his staff member Googalia both work in amazingly together. Martin and Googalia Were very helpful thru out our stay. Martin gave us advice on what to see , recommendations on where to eat anything else we were a text away he was always available. Now about the place a charming place, clean well decorated, beautiful garden very well looked after, amazing views, just a beautiful place. The place is a short walk away from every where. I certainly would come back again.

The owner/manager was very friendly and helpful. Even though he doesn't speak English, he's quite well versed in using Google Translate. We had no problem communicating that way. He found us a free parking spot on the street about 100 meters from the property, which is at the edge of Sassi Di Matera. We didn't mind walking 7 minutes or so into the town center. Great place to stay at!

Outstanding Stay

Our stay at L’Antica Conceria was outstanding! Our host Martino went above and beyond assisting us with planning our time in Matera, all while using Google translate as his English was limited. It worked beautifully! He also called and made a reservation for us at a restaurant in Matera, which was so thoughtful. He is such a kind and lovely person, he felt like a friend. And speaking of beautiful, the accommodations were beautiful in every way - tastefully decorated, comfortable, quiet, super clean, lovely view from the terrace just outside our room where we sat and enjoyed a cappuccino prepared by Martino. The breakfast was bountiful with many choices to make anyone happy. The location was perfect, outside the busy centre but just a ten minute walk through a quiet street and we were in Matera’s historical centre. Parking was also easy, Martino met us at the parking location and walked with us back to the guesthouse - maybe three minutes at most. If we ever return to Matera, we would absolutely stay with Martino again!

De très belles prestations dans un hébergement de très bonne qualité idéalement situé. Mention particulière au très bon accueil de l'hôte tel un véritable guide touristique, qui a pris beaucoup de temps à expliquer sur une carte les visites à réaliser dans cette ville magnifique. Merci à lui car nous aurions très certainement loupé des pépites si nous n'avions pas eu ses précieux conseils

Magical stay

Matera is a magical city to visit and our stay was made even better by our gracious host Martino who told us everything we needed to know and made our sightseeing and restaurant visits remarkable The room was absolutely fabulous, the bed very comfortable and the WiFi and Ac was really good. Good coffee and a very good breakfast too. Everything so clean and well kept. Easy walk to the sights and city so it was a perfect place to stay. I’m coming back, both to the city who stole a bit of my heart and I’ll stay here again for sure
