"They allow dogs but not cats and we travel with our 2 dogs and 2 cats since 2002 without damage to property as well behaved, dogs stay in baskets always. We were surprised as cats even stay in Paris, all over European 5 star hotels. Otherwise lovely place and people."

"The Gonville is well located for Cambridge. Staff are very friendly. Reuben on the front desk in particular. Rooms are spacious and well appointed. Breakfast is a very good selection with many chef cooked options available. Furniture in the communal areas is tired, worn, and needs replacing but in general this is a very comfortable hotel."

"The room was clean and the staff were excellent. There is a large sitting room off the reception area that is a great place to meet people or just rest with your party during the visit, which is fantastic. The only challenge was the fire alarm in the room had a VERY bright light that ultimately had to cover with a towel to get off to sleep. Also, the windows aren't great at drowning out the road noise, which is a common issue in hotels on these busy roads, so be sure to bring ear plugs with you....

"Bar area & seating was acceptable but the accommodation was two out of ten with stair carpet and landings disgustingly dirty & smelly . Apartment 6 room floor carpet needs replacing , walls have splash marks that are from previous occupants , shower door disgusting at bottom outside."

"Such a lovely hotel with lots of history, 8 minute walk to the town. Beautiful decor and extremely friendly and helpful staff from the reception staff to the bar staff. They upgraded our room for free due to a celebration booking and could not have been more lovely. Thank you!"

"Lovely stay in a very nice room overlooking the river—and the cows grazing freely among picnickers on the green opposite. Great location as just a few minutes walk from King’s. We would go back there again in a heartbeat."

"The hotel was situated in town centre. Walkable to the river, local attractions and restaurants. We had a lovely stay and they have a small spa located next door which we used one morning. We did not eat breakfast there so unable to comment on food, the rooftop bar was lovely for drinks. Our door was difficult to open but staff were helpful and efficient."
