"Surprisingly quiet despite being off the A1 the front of the property is a corridor to the rooms which offers sound protection from the A1 . The rooms overlooked a nice field with a view of the sea. The staff were friendly and a decent restaurant on site ."

"We had a super stay at Hillcrest; Mark & his father were very welcoming and supportive and the breakfasts were fab! Our room was really clean and comfortable and the en-suite was exceptional; we wish we could have transferred it to our own home. If we are ever in this part of the world again, there is absolutely no doubt where we would stay - at HILLCREST! Thank you Mark and Malcolm, you made our stay very happy and comfortable- we’ll be back! Best wishes, R & D"

"We booked this last minute trip to Northumberland. We have driven past often during summer holidays and were looking for a hotel for a few nights. The staff were lovely and the food was excellent. The room was spotless but a little small, however as we only booked the night before we thought we were lucky to get a room!! Embleton is close to lots of attractions, close to the beach and Alnwick and Craster. It’s great value for the price and we will definitely be back."

"Although the rooms were a little tired the helpfulness of the staff way made up for this. They went above and beyond to be so accommodating. I would definitely stay here again"

"We loved staying here...Vanessa was lovely, the clever way she did breakfast so we could choose when we had it, the comfy room and bed...the great taxi service to Seahouses, the fact the we were left alone to enjoy our few days...all combined to make the 3 nights we stayed wonderful, and we will definitly be back!"

"Perfect location between Barter Book and the Playhouse with bus stop right outside. Clean, quiet, comfortable. Nice patio outside to enjoy summer evenings. Not fancy, but if your tastes are simple and you want an affordable base from which to explore the area, this is the place for you. "
