1. Cedar Point's Hotel Breakers

Sandusky

"We’ve been coming to Hotel Breakers at Cedar Point for years, but after our recent stay, I don’t think we will be returning. We booked a suite, & I was disgusted by the condition of the room. There was what appeared to be mold growing inside the trash can & not just a little bit. The amount made it look like it had been sitting there for quite some time. How does something like that go unnoticed if rooms are being properly cleaned and inspected between guests? Near the trash, I saw the same...

11. Fairfield by Marriott Port Clinton Waterfront

Port Clinton

"We were checked into an accessible room. When we came back from dinner we took our shoes off and our socks were soaking wet and we could smell mold. The carpeting from the air conditioner to the bed was soaking wet. They moved us to another room but the shower chair from the other room did not fit. We had to turn it sideways and it was difficult to get in and out of the shower. I'm requesting a credit for the stressful beginning to our stay. I thought the rooms were inspected before checking in...

14. Anchor Inn Boutique Hotel

Put-in-Bay

"I have stayed at a dozen properties around Put In Bay and I can say without a doubt, the Anchor Inn is the best place I have found. Close to downtown, reasonably priced for the quality and service, cleanliness of the room and property, quality of the breakfast and food offerings, thoughtful touches throughout the room and lobby. This place has spoiled us for staying anywhere else on the island. High end toiletries and bathroom amenities, Nespresso machine in every room, bathrobes, slippers,...

"Everything was very nice and clean. It would have 5 stars all the way around, but there was no closet or dresser to place your clothes. We stayed there for a week and had to use the hooks in the kitchen/dining room to hang clothing. We also wanted to put the dishes in the dishwasher the night before we checked out, but the dishwasher did not power up. Other than that....it was a beautiful property and it made our Cedar Point trip that much better."
