"The room was generally clean but the shower had mould. Room number 8 stunk of cigarette smoke to the point that we had to wash all clothing that had been in it afterwards. Room 12 had a dripping tap that was you could hear when trying to sleep.
The location is good, about 20 minutes into town and shops just across the road. The car park was great and the staffless check-in was easy.
The frosted glass panel showing the shower area was a little uncomfortable and would put me off booking again."

"Excellent and clean room. Very good quality for a good price. Public transport is excellent to Vaduz and Feldkirch.
One point for improvement is the lack of a screen or curtain for the bathroom-window. Due to a glass door between the bedroom and the bathroom it was not possible to make the room dark enough for a good sleep."

"A great value and clean hotel for a quick stopover right in the middle of town. The self check in was easy and clear comms from the staff by email. Great to have a Nespresso machine in the room and a communal lounge with fridge etc too. 5 mins walk from Altstätten Stadt station on the lovely mountain railway to Appenzell and beyond. 20 mins walk or quick bus to Altstätten SG mainline station so easy to get around without a car. Single ensuite room was clean and compact but comfortable with ab...

"Charming independent hotel. Pet-friendly and (for humans!) a tasty breakfast buffet is included.
Our room was small but we had booked the cheaper option and it was only for one night, so it was perfect for us.
Parking is free on-site. (Not to be assumed in Europe!)
This does not pretend to be a luxury hotel. But it’s clean and tidy and excellent value for money."
