"The first thing you notice is very nice personnel who speak better English than the reception of airport Hilton does. The second thing - the property is huge and somewhat worn out. But after 5 nights I got used to it.
The crowd is mixed - both backpackers and mature couples. There are both dorms and private room at the property.
I wish there was a walking tour on offer, these things are more fun than a van from Chiletour. In general, I wish there were better tours on offer. But I don't know...

"A wonderful hostel with extremely helpful staff thanks Juan and Guillermo and others! Staff create a wonderful atmosphere in the hostel, provide advice, look after safety and it’s easy to meet other travellers snd get advice. I had the top room which is a fairy book fantastic and a dream to stay in. Bathroom good enough. I highly recommend! "

"Wonderful hostel in a fabulous location! The place is clean, comfortable, and a really good value. The staff were friendly and responsive (thank you Christian, Nacho, and Malik!!). I would stay here again and would recommend Hostal Boutique Merced 88 to friends visiting Santiago. "

"Excelente quarto, muito espaçoso, limpo, a cama é bem confortável, tem ar condicionado bom e uma TV ótima. Tem uma pequena cozinha externa com água quente e gelada, mucroondas e geladeira. A localização é ótima também, cheio de bares e restaurantes, uma das melhores de Santiago. "
