Room was hot as hell. AC did not work. Apparently the "management" had not decided to turn on the AC....Paying customers don't get to decide what temp they like their room. Upon checkout girl at front desk acted like I was bothering her to do her job!

Breakfast buffet was wonderful! Room temperature controls did not allow us to lower the 25C setting, though the fan worked. The bed was a bit soft in the middle for us. Shower was quite nice.

Good stay, I would stay again. We did not buy breakfast because there were many little shops around for far cheaper and lots more options! The shampoo wouldn't come out of the pump in the shower and no microwave in the room but otherwise decent price for a riverfront view room!

Great stay
The hotel was great. We received an upgrade to an executive level suite. The room was large and very clean. The staff was very friendly and service was outsranding. The hotel is situated across from the bus terminal that brings you to the cruise port. The hotel is situated next to a very clean and modern mall with many western stores and grocery store and Wallmart.

It’s ok, but additional service would be great
A very convenient place for a night after the Yangtze cruise. But sadly there is no concierge to help with the luggage. Perhaps the hotel can give a shuttle service to and fro the Terminal.

Nice hotel. Staff generally friendly, especially at checkin and concierge. F&B staff spent more time playing games on their phones rather than attending to guest needs Good variety for breakfast, considering the location. Comfortable beds and decent sized rooms with baths. Smoking inside the building is a bit of an issue for me

We needed to check out late and paid half rate allowing us to stay till 6:pm Just a few blocks to the Three Gorges cruise terminal making it perfect for a stay before a cruise on the Yangtze river.

OK but Club access a bit under par.
The hotel initially could not find our booking, was resolved finally after a few phone calls. We booked a Club room. Room was fine but the Club lounge was open only in the evenings and had very limited drinks and snacks, not really up to normal Club standards. Also breakfast was not offered in the Club lounge as it is normally.

Best Hotel In Yichang
Huge modern hotel next to shopping mall but Club Room facilities poor by comparison to other hotels. Almost opposite River Cruise Port which offers cheap Yangtze River Cruises (however struggled to find anyone that spoke English).

Top level Chinese hotel
Visited Yichang with my wife and son in mid-November to visit the Three Gorges dam. Arrived at the hotel and everything they told us on the website was correct - restaurants, English-speaking staff, bars. Not inexpensive (by Chinese standards) but really top-notch hotel, but still with hutongs about worth visiting. Very friendly staff. Only annoyance is if you prepay breakfast there is a set price, but if you don't pay for it until you actually have breakfast 60% more. Not explained well at check-in.

Hotel is next to a shopping mall with many eateries. My baggage did not arrive as it was lost during transit. The concierge service was excellent as they helped me to call the airport several time (if not mistaken 6 times). Whenever they see me, they informed me about the status of my baggage

This hotel is very beautiful and luxuriously appointed. The staff are polite and gracious. There is a huge problem with their heating /air conditioning system. We turned on the ac....2 hours later the room was hotter so we called the front desk who said they would send someone....an hour and a half later we called again because no one showed up. The tech came and fiddled with the panel, opened a window and left....no temp change. At midnight I called for a fan because the room was getting even warmer....it didn't work. Another team came and fiddled with both the ac and the fan and finally pronounced that everything was broken. Long and uncomfortably hot night.

Nice hotel in nice area. Some employees even speak English. But when I lined up behind one person for the checkout, 20 minutes later the two receptionists still have not finalized that one person's checkout. Since I had a flight to catch, did not waited longer. Got into the taxi which was reserved in the meantime. There the receptionist together with the driver demanded in advance to pay 120 Yuans for the ride to the airport. The taximeter was not disconnected so one could easily see in the end of the ride that it costs only 85 Yuans. Not expensive either way but the advance ultimatum is a dirty business.

We were warned not to stay in Yichang after our river cruise, so we booked the best hotel we could find. First, the good news. The limousine from the wharf wound through the poorest suburbs, on broken pavements - interesting but confronting. The hotel is delightfully located in a busy part of town, surrounded by shops large and small - even a Walmart is in the same building, which is ideal for those small things or a couple of beers at one tenth the price from the minibar. The staff were delightful. Most of the items on the restaurant menu were unavailable, including wines (see below). The only choice was Goulash made with slow cooked shanks. Since when is Beef Goulash stir-fried tiny cubes of beef (topside?) with vegetables, sauce (from a bottle?) and a pile of dry spaghetti? Whiskey sours made with Coke and no egg white? It takes skill to destroy such a simple drink so comprehensively. Limited space prevents a full listing of the fun we had that evening. You have been warned.

This is a really nice western hotel with beautiful rooms and a really nice staff (English speaking). The location is on the river right next door to the mall. Great area to walk. Our only complaint is that the air conditioner didn't cool. When we called the desk they sent someone up right away to fix it but it still never really cooled.

Way Too Hot to Enjoy Our Stay
We stayed one night at the Crowne Plaza Yichang following our Chongqing to Yichang Yangtze River Cruise. We are soo glad it was just one night. If you don't mind sleeping in a sweat box then give the Crowne Plaza Yichang a try. You too can have a sleepless night while paying for the privilege. A couple of things that I want when I stay in a quality establishment. I want it to be clean and I want to be able to sleep comfortably. While the hotel is clean and has good amenities and the rooms are nice don't expect to have air con. We stayed here during April while it was 18 degrees celsius outside it was an uncomfortable 27.5 degrees Celsius inside our room. We called reception to complain and they said they would send a worker. A 'worker" came, he looked at the panel and then he opened the window and left. We went down to reception and advised that the worker came but did nothing but open the window and were advised they would send someone. When we returned from dinner we found they had placed a fan in the room which was doing nothing but blowing the warm air from the air conditioning around the room. If you do a search on reviews of this hotel you will find many reviews mentioning the air conditioning. We wished we had paid attention to these.

Nicely surprised
We just came off the Yangtze River cruise through the Three Gorge and decided to spend a day in Yi Chang and stayed here. Good decision. This is in the new development area. There is still construction nearby, but the Yangtze River is across the street. There are tons of shops nearby, from Exotic international brands to local hole-in-wall shops. Close (relatively) to the rail way station. Top notch rooms and lobby. luxury through and through. True 5 star material. High recommended.

Spend one night only and was fairly exhausted by the time we arrived at the hotel. Centrally located and easy access to most things. Did not spend much time looking around as we needed the rest. The water jug did not work but was quickly fixed. A bit far from the airport.

Modern Clean Hotel
We enjoyed our 1 night stay at Crowne Plaza Yichang. We had the "all you can eat" dim sum at noon on Sunday and although the dim sum was "a la carte" and not the little trolleys that you get to pick your food from, it was very very good. We were happy that our room was not on the sunny side of the hotel since it could have been very very hot. The air conditioner worked well, but it might have kept up if we had been on the sunny south side. The reception desk people were all very helpful. I recommend this hotel for both families, business people or couples.

A first class hotel
The Yichang Crowne Plaza is a great hotel that is up the best standards anywhere in the world. The rooms are beautiful, the service is impeccable, the breakfast buffet is great and the location is perfect for anyone considering a cruise through the three gorges as it is located right in front of the dock used by most tour cruises.
