Found a proper little gem here, accommodation, food, drinks and parking were all spot on. Great choice at breakfast and all meals in the evening were good portions at great prices.
Evening meal was excellent - we’ll dine Chef - breakfast was amazing too. Staff very helpful.
Only negative was the room not very private and needed to keep blinds down or curtain pulled which meant the room felt dark.

Great food
Convenient location, stayed here 2 weeks ago. Great service and food was beautiful.
Nice convenient place to stay to visit the hospital. Very helpful staff. Arrived really late they were very accommodating.
Very friendly and flexible breakfast.
Clean room hot shower, breakfast has a good selection, friendly staff. Received a call to ask if we require a meal as they would have kept the kitchen open, great service thank you
A lovely stay, Our room recently refurbished to a good standard. Nice pub and restraint, Very good food. Owners and staff very friendly. Great for dogs.
The staff are very attentive, friendly and helpful. We had a meal in the restaurant the first evening and that was excellent. The quality of the food was outstanding and made our stay a pleasant one.
Quiet, clean, comfortable, friendly efficient staff.
Evening meal and breakfast were both excellent.
Hope to stay again in the not too distant future.

Liked: Staff & service, amenities
Had large family room, bathroom rather small. Rather noisey from road traffic as we were at front of hotel. Staff friendly and breakfast really good. Would stay again
Room was lovely hotel was nice lake was lovely to walk round evening meal was nice
Breakfast however not so nice :( over cooked and items undercooked you cant drink the water so have to buy it after being given 2 bottles in room.they cost £2 each for water
Alot of workers were staying the hotel who didnt care about other guests especially at 2am drinking in the garden
No directions on where to.go for dinner or breakfast was a guess job in the hotel
Typical lodge and didnt feel like it was the best in terms of cleanliness. No aircon so summer time is very brutal. Staff service was nice and decent English breakfast. Parking is fairly easy.
Check in was really friendly, the room is good. I'm in a single room with a skylight instead of window, but the air con was welcome and effective. Only criticism is that I wasn't told or shown that there is a pole provided (tucked away behind the tea/coffee table) to close the ceiling blind (and I was too tired after a long journey to go downstairs and ask) so I was up with the daylight.

Friendly staff, good food, but very noisy!
The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, homemade food and service were great. The room itself didn't seem to match the photos though, quite small but it was clean. Low rating is for the noise which unfortunately we could not ignore throughout the night, and therefore we slept very badly. The walls and floors are thin, so you can hear everything around and below, as well as car noises from the main road. Our room was next to some sort of boiler (?) which made a prolonged audible noise every minute or two throughout the night, we couldn't sleep at all.
Room 23 - The main room area was spacious and clean,
however it could have been decorated and finished off more professionally.
There were scuff marks on the walls in places.
The lighting was too harsh for a hotel room.
There were power sockets above the beds and halfway up the walls, which looked unsightly with exposed cables across the walls.
There was a powerpoint in between the pillows where the double bed has been positioned, which could be dangerous if a phone is left charging, as it is right next to the head a sleeping person.
The bath had black mould patches around the silicone sealing and there was no lock on the bathroom door. It was also difficult to shut properly.
You can see where decorating has been done, but not finished off neatly.
The breakfast was very good, but the room smelled of damp or drains where we were seated, which impacted on enjoyment of our food.
The bar area and restaurant are very nicely decorated - welcoming and cosy.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
But the property overall is in need of some attention to improve the quality of guest experience.
