"Clean small apartment - walkable to a bustling part of the city. Shinjuku is an exciting area and just outside of the east station exit is a bit like vegas-meets-NY. I knew the area was active but I did not realize this apartment was smack in the middle of the night life (host bars, love hotels, etc) part of town. "I booked the Knot for my brother and my mom on their trip to Japan. Their trip was broken into three parts - I booked the Knot for their initial stay and at the end of their Japan tour. On the initial stay - they had rave reviews. The food, stay, etc. exceeded their expectations. However, the bathroom in the room has a step and this was at times challenging for my mom who has mobility issues. Other than that, they loved their stay. The issue was their last leg of the trip. When they returned to the hotel they had a new room. My mom described this room as a makeshift closet - dusty, dirty, small and noisy. It is interesting because I paid a greater amount for this night as it landed on a weekend but it made their overall experience terrible and they left feeling they would never go back again. It is really unfortunate because I think it depends on what room you get and clearly that’s a Wild card. "
