"The staff were very helpful. The hotel is very tired and needs some changing and upgrades and the bathroom was not clean with ingrained grubbiness. At breakfast, there was a coffee machine with no facilities for decaffeinated coffee. Just sachets of decaffeinated. Otherwise breakfast was good."

"Check in was easy, room was okay for price , I asked to add some nice touches as it was my anniversary and I’d pay extra, they just left a note on the bed. Could not use the swimming pool as advertised on the booking as swimming lessons were being done. Staff didn’t tell me that even though they gave me towels and told me where the pool was."

"On check in the gentleman was cheerful and helpful. Explained night porter service, bar and food times and where n when breakfast was with no prompts. Bar staff were cheerful and amenable. Parking was easy and plentiful. Hotel guest parking is free. Had an evening meal which was good. Bar runs a happy hour. Breakfast is continental and cooked. Cooked breakfast is prepared to order and arrived hot and perfectly cooked 5*"

Unfortunately we were booked in during the hottest weekend of the year so far over May bank holiday and the only room that had proper aircon was reception! The rest of the place was like an oven. "The front of house staff were super friendly and helpful. The cafe and restaurant looked clean and modern, we didn't eat there though as there limited uninspiring vegan options. No milk alternative options in the room on the tea tray. Noone wants to be going back to reception to ask for oatmilk at 10pm. A stain on the carpet was very off-putting as it was next to the chair and very obvious. However the room and lovely bathroom, was very clean."
