Our host was very gracious and welcoming. The room was large and very comfortable. We loved how close it was to the train station and restaurants. It was easy to start long hikes in the area. Highly recommended!

Enjoyable Friendly Welcoming Stay.
The room was compact but comfortable and clean. Breakfast was exactly what we expected and not disappointing in anyway. The corridor and stairway was not well lit. My only bugbear was that the property was listed as free parking but in reality, it is street parking and the luck of the draw if you can find a space nearby. I think free parking should mean that the owner can provide somewhere to park. This is more an issue for Hotels.com than for the property owner.

Both enjoyed a few days at Westbury House and greeted by the owner with a lovely warm smile. Felt it was home from home, very professional and friendly. Food was brilliant. Room was clean and provided everything we needed.

Jo was really friendly, and provided great service with a fun sense of humour. She also went above and beyond when I had to check out early, meaning I'd miss breakfast, so she provided a packed lunch for my trip home.

Lovely little B&B. Jo was so friendly and welcoming, a fantastic host. The room was clean and had everything I needed and most importantly the bed was very comfortable! Breakfast every morning was delicious. I wish I had booked a longer stay. Thank you so much for having me, I will definitely be back.

The room was comfortable and clean, the service from the owners was exemplary, and the breakfast was well cooked. However the best thing by far was the shower. If you travel a lot then you know the trials of hotel showers, even some of the best have mediocre ones, not so at Westbury House. Not only was the water fantastically hot, there was full pressure even without using the massage setting. To be able to come back from a day of scaling the fells and have a shower that blasts off all the grime and sweat of the day is absolutely glorious.

Lovely stay
Just returned from a wonderful stay here! Very friendly and helpful hosts, who cooked a delicious breakfast, catering well to veggies as well as a traditional full English (and of course cereal and gorgeous home made toast). Nice welcome folder in the room with local info when you arrive, and they’re happy to answer questions at breakfast, and once by text. There is free parking as advertised on the street, but also worth noting that you can buy a 3 or 7 day parking pass for many council run car parks in the south lakes, including the one directly opposite Westbury house, so we did this, it meant not looking for parking each evening when we returned, and most of the places we went locally we had already paid for the parking, well worth £32 for 7 days. Very well located, a 20-30 min walk down to the lake, and a 2 min walk from local restaurants and a small Sainsburys and Coop. We were in the attic room - very comfy bed and amazing shower! We were there during a hot spell and it did get a little warm in the room, so a extra fan may have been beneficial (there was a good ceiling one installed), but we didn’t actually ask, so there’s a good chance we would have been given one if we’d thought to ask in the morning. Room was very clean, so we felt safe in these times of Covid. Would definitely stay again, and hope to do so sometime next year!

Wonderful B&B! Great location, extremely clean, and Jo was lovely & accommodating. Breakfast each morning was a full English breakfast which set us up for the day. Rooms were very clean, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

This a lovely little B&B with nice welcoming hosts. Highlights include the very good breakfast and the electric power shower in the en-suites. Just the job after a days fell walking!

Perfect B&B for a stay in the Lakes
A fantastic short stay at Jo’s B&B. Short walk from the train station with the main town all within 2 minutes. Spotless top floor room with an exceptionally comfortable bed and an excellent shower and bathroom. A perfect full English breakfast was included which was ideal before heading off to explore. A highly recommended B&B and we will most definitely be back.

Check in was easy, Jo made us feel welcome, went through the formalities quickly but clearly. Gave us a very helpul map, showed us where the free parking was and suggested a good walk to a viewpoint. Room (3) had plenty space and a decent size wardrobe and chest of drawers which was handy as we had a fair amount of gear as we were on a walking break. Toilet / Shower was small but we expected that, well advertised in the booking stuff. Was actually fine for the 4 days we stayed. Breakfast was good, all cooked to order and a choice. We stuck to "full English" or poached eggs on toast. Jo was an excellent host, helpful and attentive but without being intrusive. Yes, we'd stay there again.

Overall an enjoyable stay in Windermere. Westbury House was close enough to the lake to allow me to walk there, and I couldn't have asked for a better host. I enjoyed my time there, would definitely be back!

In the capable hands of Jo, this B&B with just five rooms was a pleasant place to stay. Our room did feel rather cramped though and the duvet needed to be thinner as it became rather too hot at night.

Not only was this the cleanest and most spotless of B&Bs at which we stayed, but it also included a hospitable and caring host. Breakfast was delicious, and Jo looked over us as we weathered through a family emergency and had to cut short our stay to our dismay. We would definitely return. You are really missing out if you give this place a pass.

Best value B&B
Everything was perfect. Location was spot on center or town, few minutes walk from Windermere train station and bus station. Despite the location it was quiet at night allowing for a good night's rest. Room was spacious and bed was big for 2 girls. There was also ensuite bathroom, tv, free wifi and tourist attraction leaflets. Breakfast was superb! Jo was a great host, very helpful and replies fast to messages (both email and sms). Would definitely come back.
