Lovely place to stay. Easy walk to Bowness or Windermere. Car parking on the grounds. Rooms are lovely, nice and warm n the winter. Breakfast is fantastic and the owners are the most welcoming hosts you could wish to meet. You could not ask for a better place from qhich to explore the lakes.
This was a home from home. We were greeting by Beverley and she helped us with the best locations for eating and walking etc. Our room was lovely. The bed was comfortable and good quality linen.
Breakfast was superb. Chosen the night before made you look forward to what you were having and after all that fresh air, you’re looking forward to it!
We only wished we could have stayed longer. I said it was like “staying at your Aunty Beverley’s house”. We know now this is the only place we will stay. We’re already planning our next visit.
Comfortable and clean. Very good breakfasts. Walkable to
centre of Windemere for restaurants. A lovely couple who own and run the Coppice are friendly and approachable.
Initially the room was a lot smaller than it seemed on the pics but we accepted that. The room was tidy and albeit there was no room service we thought that bin emptying might have been carried out without requesting. The hanging baskets were uncared for as was the Photinias red robin near the main entrance. Not the best kerb appeal. As we had the garden room the lawn was promised to be cut but wasn't. We were not that bothered buy then why promise something you were not going to do! The bed was comfy but the en-suite was tight but useful. The owners were fair and reasonable and offered a good service. The breakfasts were well cooked and most satisfying with good choice. A good position to stay as all amenities (lake) are nearby, plenty of restaurants and places to visit. Advice given on quality restaurants. We gave the Porta the best marks. We will hopefully return at some point.

Further to your review. We are sorry the grass never got cut during your stay unfortunately I have been un well so was unable to cut the grass. (This has now been done) As for the baskets these get replaced at the end of May every year.
Had a fabulous time at The Coppice again! The room was beautiful and had really comfy beds. The breakfast was delicious. Beverley and Neil are amazing hosts, they were so welcoming and helpful. Just wish we could have stayed longer!!!
Our hosts Beverley and Neil were great and very welcoming. We had a lovely breakfast each morning and plenty of refreshments and tea / coffee for our rooms. The only thing I would suggest is ensuring the rooms have the heating on during the night, as it became very, very cold during the middle of the night where we found the radiators were turned off.
A lovely guest house .staff were very friendly and rooms i could not fault they were spotless.
Own private garden i woudl defo recommended it and we will be back again
I was greeted with a warm welcome, a clean room, and a complementary drink which was well received.
The breakfast (I had a full English on day 1 and a cheese omelette on day 2) was lovely and set me up nicely for the day ahead.
I look forward to returning on my next visit.
Thanks
Lee
Incredibly well kept guest house, extremely helpful hosts, nice little touch of sherry in our room on arrival and the location is superb, a short walk (around 15 mins) into Bowness and around 5 mins walk into Windermere. Had a brilliant stay, can’t be faulted, we stayed in Room 6 which was on the top floor and it was perfect for our short stay.
The property is gorgeous. Rooms were clean and tidy. The hosts took time to greet us and offer a list of things to see and places to eat. Breakfast was delicious every morning. I will be back next time I am in the area.
The hotel was very clean. Neil and Bev were friendly and provided us with information about the area.
Room was very comfortable.
Good selection of breakfast options.

Ok stay.
The room was much smaller than anticipated and despite being double glazed you could hear every car go past. It did have a lovely bath tub, but it's the only accomodation I've ever been to that tells you what time you will have breakfast.
Lovely stay in a comfortable room. Ideal location for the lakes, especially easy to walk into Windermere or Bowness. Breakfast was wonderful and nothing was too much trouble.
Beverley and Neil helped make our stay really special - they set the room up beautifully for us with champagne, chocolates, balloons etc arranged and set up for our arrival. Also gave good recommendations for places to eat (was essential to book beforehand during half term with restrictions just being lifted!) Nothing too much trouble - thank you!
I had never stayed at a guesthouse so I didn’t know what to expect at first. However, this wariness turned out to be unfounded. The room for one person was small but cozy. The hotel staff were kind enough to include a bottle of Sherry among the room’s amenities. The breakfast was incredible and the portions very generous! Neil and Beverly (the couple who owns the place) were also kind enough to give me a lot of good restaurant recommendations in the area. They were also very friendly in general. In all, this was my very first time staying at a guesthouse and thanks to this superb stay it certainly won’t be my last.
Pleasant B and B in good location. Great breakfast and friendly owners. Overpriced though by quite a margin. Bed mattress springy and not supportive of our backs. Covid precautions best that can be done in a small building. I saw some other rooms with open doors with very small beds, otherwise, all very pleasant.

Hello Anonymous,
Further to your review we don't quite understand your comment regarding the beds. The mattress have all been recently replaced and all of the beds are kings and doubles with the exception of a single in the single room. So how can the beds be very small?
Decor of the property was personalised and very nice.
Beverley was full of information about local restaurants, places of interest and showed us on a map where everything was and she was very friendly and helpful.
Owners and staff very friendly and helpful with great recommendations for places to eat. Bed was extremely comfortable and king size as advertised. The bath in the room was a real highlight, especially after a day of walking. The breakfast was very good too. Unfortunately the room could have been cleaner as there was a large hairball in the carpet under the dressing table and hair on the dressing table as well. The bathroom and bath were very clean though.
The owners were fantastic and gave great recommendations of walks, restaurants and things to do. Our room was clean, spacious and bed was very comfortable! Breakfast was great with lots of variety and the hotel is in the perfect location with the centre of Windermere and also Bowness very short walks away! Would definitely stay again!
