We have stayed a few times but before the hotel was closed for a few months we always enjoyed it here. We got into the room and the TV wasn’t working properly, staff did come to try fix it then the maintenance man. He couldn’t fix it so said he would speak to reception and ask for us to be moved, we waited an hour then went to reception the message had not been passed on. We then moved rooms, the tv worked for 30 minutes then the same thing happened at this point we just gave up. We then went to get some crisps from the bar to be charged £1 per packet for about 10 crisps so if your staying bring your own crisps as that was a complete rip off. We then went back to the room which was cold as the radiator was not heating up properly. At about 6am we heard an awful noise luckily my partner went to investigate and the kettle had started to boil without being switched on with hardly any water in we reported this the next morning. We did have a disappointing stay mainly due to maintenance issues, for a hotel that has been closed for 6 months you would expect it to be running with no issues. What refurbishments have been done I’m not sure as it still looks the same! Hopefully they will get the tv, heating and kettles sorted soon.
