Nice stay
Service was good especially with it being busy , food delicious and drinks great value 2 negative points , maintenance man needs to get his paint brush out in the foyer of the rooms and start providing 2 keys , awkward when you cant get in

Good friendly stop over
Stop over stay at the Bay Horse Hotel. Easy access from motorway. Good parking. Room was great. Service friendly. We were off early so didn’t sample the breakfast.

Great place, staff friendly and menu great. The room is clean and has everything you need. For the price id expect the coffee and tea area to he filled properly as there was no sweetner replaced. The bathroom plug overflow was broken also and hanging off. A bit of attention to detail and this place would be great 😀😀

Stayed here a year ago and wasn’t impressed with room but the food was really good. This time it was the opposite. The rooms have been transformed and I was very happy with mine. Food in the pub was average and breakfast was very disappointing, with cold under cooked bacon covered with white ‘scum’ and yesterday’s wrinkly sausage. Should have had the continental option.

Great value spotlessly clean!!
Staff were very friendly helpful and polite all round. Was familiy stay for a funeral and rooms were spotlessly clean and spacious loads of parking. Cannot fault anything! Many thanks

Newly Refurbished The Bay Horse Is Back
We have stayed here many times over the years. The staff and the breakfast have always been brilliant but in recent times it was getting tired so we stopped coming. A recent refurb has made such a difference. We would happily recommend this place if you want a clean tidy room with a comfortable bed and good breakfast.

Bathroom door front looked like it had been head butted (broken) All soap dispensers were empty. Whole room in need of refurbishment. This applies to hallways as well. Breakfast was fine. Would we stay here again NO.

A weekend in Ashton in Makerfield
Great staff, room was very tired, black mould in bathroom. I had a cooked breakfast the second morning tbh I wish I hadn't water for making tea wasn't hot, sausage was cheap and terrible tasting, grilled tomato looked like it had been sat under heat lights for an age and the mushrooms looked like they had come straight out of the deep fat fryer, I have eaten here in the evenings and found the food always good, maybe the chef/ cook were having a bad day.
