"The room was newly renovated and very clean. The bed was very comfortable. The location in general was very good and our view of lake Michigan was pretty cool. The pool looked nice although we didn't use it. We really wanted to use the hot tub but it was not operating. The staff was friendly and there was a nice little free continental breakfast in the lobby. The Roku TV was a bit complicated (for streaming) but we ended up figuring it out; I imagine that some folks wouldn't have been able...

"The toilet leaks, causing water on the floor that smelled like urine, the shower curtain was too short and leaked water on the floor, they gave us a handicap room which we didn’t need or want"

"If you end up getting room 220, request a different room. Unfortunately, I stayed at this hotel to celebrate the 4th of July, but ended up not feeling up to it because the room kept me up all night. Having read multiple reviews complaining about the air conditioners, I brought a noise cancelling machine, but the air conditioner was still VERY loud (high pitch chirping/rattling) and musty smelling. I was finally able to dull the sound, so I figured no need to bother the front desk in the middle...

"The room had an awful mystery odor. We had to go and get air freshener. The toilet was not attached to the floor. Did not have extra rolls of toilet paper. We had to go to the desk to get one. Went to check out and get a receipt and no one was at the desk. Rang the bell and after a few minutes someone came out and they were in their pajamas. We would not stay there again"

"Stayed here so that I could kayak/hike Pictured Rocks. Stayed on the 1st floor. Got (at most) 2 hrs of sleep. People above me were partying. I called Expedia & they transferred me to hotel. I let them hear it. Made no difference. If you need sleep before a big day- this place is not it"

"Plenty of space for our party of four, in the 2 bdrm suite. Yes, this place is old and there are signs of that. For example, the 1970s GE Cooking center…functional except the microwave. There was another microwave in the unit though. The carpet looked newer as did the couch. Nice spacious shower. Comfy beds. 3 square small pillows on the beds was not comfy as I prefer 2 rectangle pillow. My hubby and I fought over the third pillow. White blinds don’t do much to darken the rooms. "Check-in was a little difficult. You had to walk up to the main entrance door and call a cell phone number. I called it and it wouldn’t even let me even leave a message. But the person checking you in on this virtual check-in did call me back right away, so they must have caller ID. But it was a pain in the ass cause she was working at another motel as well, it’s just kind of a bad set up for check-in."

"This is a mid century Schitts creek type motel. I mean that in the best way possible. Not for the Beougie! But it is awesome. Rooms are clean and well taken care of. This place is literally right on Lake Superior! The price was fantastic and there were chairs and picnic tables right there to watch the sunset. Which in and of itself was worth the price of admission. The outside doors and common area create a little sense of old school community. Creature comforts yes, but prima donna not so...
