Great staff, rooms need some updating.

The staff were lovely from my phone call earlier in the week prior to our stay and at check-in, breakfast service and check-out. The hotel is in an old property, our room was in need of some updating and renovation but that was acknowledged by staff and our bill was reduced accordingly. Very nice breakfast.

The front entrance was sealed off as it was in a dangerous condition after a car hit it, our room was at the top of the hotel and had no lifts, the room was basic and had no A/C but boiling hot, the window only opened slightly, the room had had a water leak as there was stained carpet and wallpaper next to the radiator, one of the few sockets had masking tape over it to stop it being used, the shelf above the sink fell off when putting toothpaste onto it, the toilet rocked on the floor when sat on and the floor moved too. The stairwell had leak damage to one of the walls with mouldy damp and blown plaster. On the plus side the staff were nice and breakfast was delicious but we will not stay there again

Clean and comfortable but room in desperate need of major upgrade; photos on website misleading. Wallpaper peeling, paint fragmented, no "nice" wooden headboard, challenging lights (had to fumble to the bedside lights to find switch then go back to door to turn on), old fashioned plumbing with v hot water (good) mixed with a lot of air (bad) so spurted. Burger was excellent.

Overnight stay

Thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay, hotel staff extremely helpful and welcoming. Comfy bed, although only a double, but still sleept well. Breakfast self service had a good selection of cereals etc and the full English was a good choice, without a doubt, served with tasty meaty sausages, good value too.

Transit stop.

Good food, good staff, clean, rooms at the front suffer from traffic noise a bit, if you are used to traffic noise it won’t bother you as the windows have secondary double glazing, I know some who live on roads will not worry at all about it at all. Generally a little tired in appearance but look beyond that for a good value, decent hotel with good amenities. Breakfast was good and “steak Thursday” represents excellent value!
