"The 1st room the sink was clogged and hair coming out the drain. The floors had weak spots and the phones in rooms don’t work. Paint chipping everywhere and they let crack heads hang out in the entryway and an over all smell inside the building. If your needing a bed only it works."
"The room had an odor that was unpleasant. When we got to the room the air conditioner was set at 60 degrees, it was freezing in there. There was a noxious odor coming from the a/c unit; turned the heat on to warm the room and the odor was worse. The drain in the bath was very slow to drain. There was a security light that came on about 10:00 pm and it provided more light than was expected. There was broken glass on the carpet, made me curious as to how clean the room actually was. The bathroom appeared clean. We were told the ice maker in the freezer would take an hour to start working; however we never did have any ice while we were there. No complaints against the staff member working when we checked in. The overall appearance of the hotel was good."
"I felt the room was dirty, and the hallways smelt like smoke even though I chose a non smoking area. The staff wasn’t very helpful and it was expensive for the water to still be $2 each"
Holiday Inn Express & Suites West Des Moines - Jordan Creek by IHG
4/10 Poor
"Bed’s were fairly good. Shower was excellent. Workout room is small but was to be expected from a hotel chain. Sheets on the pullout couch were dirty. Staff did not have anything to replace them with. We suggested 2 flags sheets. Finally we received a room on the third floor, but were not told that the third floor elevator was not working. We’re an athletic family, so no problem walking the stairs, it would have been nice to at least have bee told though, my dear wife amhad a migraine from the road, and both of us were haggard and so figuring out sheets and lack of towels caused a lot of walking. Not a single apology from the staff. Customers service could have made the stay significantly better."
"The hotel was very welcoming, clean and accommodating. They have a little restaurant with yummy food. The lobby was large enough to accommodate my 10+ person family to hang out in the evening while several other families did the same. Our room was great. The location is near everything in West Des Moines yet it was secluded from traffic. My only complaint would be that the water pressure was a bit low but that is not necessarily the hotels fault.
I would definitely stay here again. "
"The room was clean, the staff went out of their way to help us with more bedding and towels, the breakfast was good, could have a few more choices, but way better than some other places. The hot tub was hot, which is very good."
