"What to say! This was a last minute booking which totally changed the feel of our trip. A haven of peace and tranquility. Such welcoming friendly staff and owners. Very helpful on the accommodation front. We could not have asked for more. Half an hour'ish walk to the beach through the wetlands or taxis to go further. A very peaceful safe area. Due to an error by Hotels.com not knowing the lodge had new owners our payment had been sent to the previous owners - we are taking this up with Hotels.com as phone number also wrong but given new owners phone numbers. However as no internet at the lodge we could not cancel our booking to get our refund so this is having to be...

Senegambia Beach Hotel

8/10 Good

"Nice clean place, very wonderful staff doing the food facilities. My check-in receptionist was not very welcoming. House cleaning Wednesday staff stole my MacBook Pro charger. Yes the hotel has a room safe but forgot to secure all my chargers so they choose to take the Apple charger. The beach is not bad. In the mornings the water comes all the way up to the rocks. The one swimming pool is nice with the center water bar other swimming pool is away from the beach. I think it is a wonderful family friendly place as they have the feeding of the vultures at 11:30am everyday and the monkeys are seen during breakfast time on the rooftops. Water and drinks are best bought at the mini supermarket outside the resort."

"I will definitely come back! The staff are so caring, helpful and kind. They go out of their ways to be sure you have everything you need, whether that’s in your room, poolside, by the beach or in a restaurant. I had a club villa, with a beautiful terrace with two large sofas, a table and chairs. My room was so big and each evening, during turn down service, they closed my mosquito nets (although thankfully there weren’t any mosquitos!). I came to stay here as I knew they had Thai chefs, from when I’d come here for dinner in a previous visit. So the Thai food was fabulous, but so were the breakfasts. The eggs shakshushka were probably the best I’ve had anywhere in the world. I even asked the chef how to make them! There are plenty of pool options and they were always quiet, with the sound of the waves breaking in the background. Poolside cocktails tasted fabulous and they even have my favourite, banana daiquiri. The hotel does feel a little dated, but it’s still fabulous and I loved my stay. I was disappointed by the spa, they always cut treatments way short of the amount of time I’d paid for and other guests noticed the same thing. They seemed disorganised and left the changing rooms messy. However, it’s nice to have well priced massages in site."

"We had one of the rooms on the beach, which was the most amazing location. 30 metres from the waters edge, so to go to sleep to the sound of Atlantic waves was amazing. Comfy bed, we slept 8-10 hours per night. Also had a pool, shared with our neighbours. Food was ok, the Strip was a 15 minute walk away. Did a one say Safari to Senegal which was AMAZING."
