"Great location in buzzing Cuba street, lots of cafes, restaurants and bars close by for food and drink options but the hotel bar was also a great spot to end the evening. Parking is available at a cost but still very convenient with a lift in the car park that connects you to the hotel. There are two sides to the hotel, one the heritage side where the rooms are apparently smaller and a bit more traditional then the newer side where the rooms are bigger and a bit more contemporary, we stayed in the heritage side, these are apparently slightly cheaper but they were roomy enough for two people, decent ensuite and hanging facilities for clothes and ironing equipment and tea and coffee facilities with a proper coffee maker and a safe. I can’t remember if there was a fridge. The bed was super comfortable, nice quality crisp cotton sheets, and super quiet considering we were in the heart of the city and in buzzy Cuba Street. A great spot and we will definitely return here for our city visits."

"The view from the 22nd floor was amazing. Staff were very helpful and the whole hotel was well maintained and very clean. The only difficulty we had was the parking. The parking spots were very tight for the size of our vehicle but we did get our car to fit in the parking spot eventually. Besides the parking, we had a beautiful time while staying at the James cook hotel and we will definitely return to stay again the next time we are back in Wellington. Thank you to the team at the James cook hotel"

"This is a fantastic, more affordable wing to the QT hotel. Ideal location, some awesome amenities, comfortable beds. The reason for the cheaper rates in these rooms is their age and minimal refurbishment. They probably over deliver on their price however. Recommended!!"
