I booked 9 months via Expedia before my vacation. When I arrived, the clerk could not find my reservation. After 10minutes, she contacted the offsite Manager via her cellphone, and gave me her cell to which I was told by the Manager that my reservation was no longer valid as the motel has had a change of ownership, that they are full occupancy and cannot help me. At my every turn in conversation, the manager kept telling me that they cannot accommodate me due to a change of ownership since my original booking, I finally had the lightbulb appear and told them that as the new owner, you would have seen all prior bookings and you never emailed me that my reservation was cancelled. After a long pause, they said ok. Once I secured my room, I asked how did you find a room for me as you stated the motel was full, the Manager replied (remember.... via cellphone) that they hold one back for emergencies.... I thought to myself why would you put me through a 25minute check-in instead of welcoming me and just gave me that emergency room without me insisting that they need to honour my reservation. Don't stay here - old motel, no updates except for locks on door.. Front desk clerk absent as only Manager not onsite, and clerk has triple duty with being Reception, Housekeeper, and setting up each day's continental breakfast. The clerk is overworked and very polite. The offsite manager tried to turn me away and I think it's because I booked at a lower rate 9months prior with Expedia.....
