Requested late checkout on the phone before staying, was accepted and told 2PM was perfect.
I was woken at 8am by the TV making noise and then showing a bright-white logo, turned it off and it switched back on, i had to wait 5 mins before the TV would allow me to turn it off, meaning I was now fully awake.
When I finally managed to go to sleep again, I was then awoken by a staff member banging FURIOUSLY hard on the door. It turns out the night staff had failed to informed the day-staff of my late checkout. This is an inappropriate way to wake someone compared to calling the hotel phone, and inappropriate due to the lack of handover.
I have slept incredibly poorly and am frustrated I have paid full-cost for the room. I am now travelling home on little sleep, truly a trip-ruining event.
