In our correspondents with guests we ask them to contact us to make sure they have good directions. They did do that and were driving on a road that was closed. We try texting and calling before dark to make sure if time of arrival and no response. We wait all night for our guests. We did not know they were on their. Yes there are dirt roads but one along the coast is closed but gps still says that beach road is there.

Peoplecome to our hotel for the casual atmosphere, apparently too casual for this guest. It is very important for Expedia guests to be aware of the distance and that is a rural rustic area. most people rave about the art and for that matter the service. there is a big difference in the guests who want to be on The East Cape, away from crowds and big hotels and are happy to just chill there. People write reviews about the staff thanking each one by name so this is very surprising to hear. we are short handed and he was probably waiting tables at the same time and you can see the room from the lobby. again sorry for your disappointment.

Yes they made a last minute booking with Expedia and the rooms were full before the reservation came through to me, there were big waves and we had lots of walk ins. I did not get a chance to block the rooms with Expedia before they booked. Long story short we did in fact have nothing for them and my Manager moved out of his room to accommodate them. They said repeatedly it was fine. We reduced their price by $70.00 and apologized profusely we are in a rural location and most of our guests are looking to be there, in the middle of nowhere. Many people who book with the online travel agencies don't tend to do the research to know where we are. They then tend to be disappointed when they realize we are remote, off-grid and off-road. It's like heaven to most of our guests but not for all of them.

I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay. Plants take water, we don’t have any we are in the desert and it comes in a truck. We were hit by a very big hurricane in September, the rest of the plants are growing back. Can’t speak to the service as people rave about our food and service and architecture. I imagine you were looking for a much more upscale hotel as the guests that wanted to be in aplace like that go on and on about how beautiful it is. We get no deliveries, we drive every morsel of food to that place ourselves. Sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay.

The family couldn't have been nicer, everyone from the staff to the other guests were crazy about them.

Thanks for your review. I’m sorry about the attitude of the bartender, I can’t explain that. The thing about out prices is it costs a lot more to do business in the East Cape than it does in Cabo. We don’t get any deliveries of any kind. We drive all food and drink to the location. We run on solar and generator and have our water delivered in a truck. It just costs more and we don’t have the volume over there. We have to house our employees. In Cabo everything is delivered to the door step and the East Cape experience is very different. Again, I apologize for the inconvenience.

I haven't checked our bikes lately but so few people use them that I'm not surprised. Its a harsh environment and things rust very fast. We had a new internet system installed a couple fo weeks ago anti has been very reliable thus far.

Yes, we are in a remote location and when there are clouds we do need to run a generator as we are on solar and waiting for new batteries. Also, we need the generator for the a/c.Our food is being served in the middle of nowhere where there aren't any deliveries. Most people rave about the food and never complain because the quality is very fresh and our menu is vast, cheap things and expensive things. Over the holidays we do have more expense food. Many people do not factor in the difficulties of running a place so far from town. Our internet is satellite and it will slow down when there are 40 or 50 people using it. Our tripAdvisor reviews should be read as well.
