"The place is absolutely beautiful.
We had a meal in the restaurant which was outstanding.
My only gripes were with the check in. I explained that we were leaving on the 8am train in a few days. They said that it might be difficult to get a taxi and gave me a card with taxi numbers on it but did not offer to arrange it for me.
They then got us to drag our heavy suitcases to our room which was quite a distance away and up a bit of a hill. It was boiling when we arrived so this was not great. I was expecting them to take it to the room for us win. the buggy carts they had at the property.
Finally they did not put us in a room next to our children.
Despite this initial poor impression the rest of our stay was excellent and I wouldd highly recommend the place."
"Our stay at this Duoro Valley wine estate was the absolute perfect way to relax and unwind after a fast paced tour of Portugal’s coastal cities. From the moment we arrived, the exceptional hospitality and incredibly helpful staff made us feel entirely at home. The property itself is visually spectacular, offering stunning, postcard ready views from every corner - whether lounging by the pool, dining at the restaurant, or relaxing on your hotel room balcony. The self guided audio walking tours around the vast estate were fantastic, allowing us to discover the historic vineyards at our own pace while stretching our legs. The on site wine tasting was a true highlight, while also having access to a scenic river boat tour right from the estate’s private dock on the river was incredibly convenient. Every morning started with a delicious, high quality, included breakfast spread. The dinners were absolutely awesome, showcasing fresh, flavorful, local dishes. If you are looking for an immersive, deeply relaxing vineyard getaway with world class scenery and top tier service, this property is an absolute dream."
"This place far exceeded my expectations. The room was beautiful, fancy rain shower in the bathroom, large balcony overlooking the valley. It’s not a big place, maybe 12 rooms in total, so it was very quiet. The pool was lovely, also overlooking the valley. Breakfast was included and it was a great variety. Staff are very friendly and no language barrier for English. It’s up the hill about a 15 min walk from the train station and main area of the town. I highly recommend this as a place to stay in Pinhao.

"We had a lovely restful visit here. We've been to Douro Valley before and just wanted to relax and chill this time, we got exactly that. Pool area is great with a well maintained toilet/changing/shower block next to it and the views are amazing. We didn't go out in the evening, just had lovely meals on the terrace, but Pinhao is only a ten minute drive.
Easy to find with Google maps 👍"
"Lovely hotel. Breakfast was really nice. Pool was amazing. We were in the family room and it was very spacious with proper beds for the kids.
Didn’t eat at the restaurant as it wasn’t suitable for my kids but the staff recommended other local restaurants. No bar however they serve drinks and charcuterie.
Would happily stay again"
