Cute room with all you need for a wonderful stay in Esparanza! The views are amazing, and the restaurant/bar were great. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return soon!
This was a great little ocean front place. The room was clean and comfortable and the restaurant was great. Excellent location with in walking distance to several restaurants and to a beach. We were able to walk right to our Bio Bay tour guide shop as well. They had a nice spot for me to park our rented side x side. We are planning a trip back to Vieques next year and we will defiantly stay here again.
The location for the hotel is excellent and is near to all the points of interests. There are a lot of mosquitoes in the room and in the porch.
Other than that we enjoyed our stay.

Staff we met on the first day were restaurant people and they were great. Room had no windows and we only found out when we were leaving that the back door did open to a porch but there were no instructions that that was possible. Bathroom stank of sewage and bathmat was wet on our arrival. Great location.

This hotel has an excellent location. The room size was decent for our group of three (two adults and one child), and it included both a queen bed and a twin bed. The mattresses were comfortable, and the overall space in the room felt adequate.
The check-in instructions were a bit confusing at first, but the hotel staff were helpful in assisting us. The room could be better maintained—for example, the bathroom had slow drainage, causing water to accumulate before draining. Additionally, some of the door hooks were either missing or not functioning properly.
One major discomfort was the constant noise from the restaurant—music as well as chatter from staff or guests—which was especially noticeable at night. It would be great if the hotel could find a way to better contain the noise during late hours.
These weren’t major issues overall, but they were small inconveniences that could be easily addressed to improve the guest experience.
TLDR: Modest but solid choice for an overnight stay for biobay. The restaurant has the best food and drinks in Esperanza, hands down (I went to all of the restaurants). Get the burger. The staff was phenomenal.
I learned after I booked my stay here that the biobay tours do not happen during full moons. I reached out to trade winds and they were beyond accommodating. They changed my reservation days, and even offered an upgrade! Check in is contactless. The rooms are modest, but clean and comfortable and have a roomba to get rid of sand (so cute!). Right across from an entrance to the beach. I would stay here again just for the staff and the food. The food here was the highlight of my stay in Vieques, no joke. Thank you!
We loved our room at Trade Winds - cute and comfortable and right on the waterfront of the main street through Esperanza. Coffee, water and muffins were a kind touch and dinner with a view at the on site restaurant was excellent. Short walk to our bio-bay tour meeting point.
Older property, it was clean, not much daylight is the room

We stayed in Vieques for one night in order to experience the bioluminescent bay, and Trade Winds was the perfect place to stay. We are already thinking of other reasons to come back and bring friends.
During our stay we were constantly killing mosquitoes in our room. They appeared to be coming through louvered windows because screens did not fit tight. Walls are paper thin. When people were talking in the room next to ours, it sounded like they were right in our room.
When we arrived around 5pm noone was there to check us in. We then booked another property as we had no other choice. About and hour or so later, got email through expedia with self check in options. Now we ended up paying for 2 rooms.
