Lovely stay in the mountains

Beautiful little hotel / farmhouse style. Very historic with lots of thoughtful touches. The room was exceptionally clean and tidy. Very comfortable bed with premium bedding sheets. Also very quiet so we slept extremely well!

Mycket mysigt. Ligger väldigt avsides. Några av rummen har "pappersväggar". Maten är så där. Finns två restauranger på gångavstånd. Högt upp i bergen. Dålig busstrafik

Scelta diversa dal solito hotel moderno sul mare....struttura molto piccola e con un rapporto molto stretto con lo staff....persone speciali ...cordiali e disponibili...colazione ottima ....l unico neo ma lo sapevamo è la distanza dal mare circa 20m da las palmas e ci vuole l auto per recarsi in paese ...cmq lo consiglio per una vacanza in pieno relax e lontano dal caos....

Sehr schönes Hotel mit wunderschönem Hotelgarten. Einziger Minuspunkt: Der Pool, da ungeheizt, kann im Dezember nur angeschaut werden (und ich bin nicht empfindlich!). Die MitarbeiterInnen sind jederzeit hilfsbereit und versuchen, die Wünsche der Hotelgäste zu erfüllen.

Kleines Paradies in den Bergen

Nach 10 Tagen in Maspalomas haben wir zur Erkundung des nördlichen Teils der Insel noch 4 Nächte im Rural las Calas verbracht. Wir hatten ein schönes gemütliches Zimmer, rustikal und typisch eingerichtet, mit allem was man braucht und sauber. Toll war der Garten, eine kleine Oase. Die Köchin hat morgens ein herrliches Frühstück gemacht und das Abendessen, ein 3Gang Menü, wurde morgens bekannt gegeben und wer wollte, konnte dieses leckere Essen dann für abends bestellen. Insgesamt ein super Aufenthalt, bei sehr netten Gastgebern.

zentral gelegener Startort für viele Routen

Casas rural liegt in ca. 1000 m Seehöhe etwas versteckt in einer dörflichen Siedlung westlich von San Mateo , ein hübscher Ort mit allen nötigen Einkauf - und Restaurant-Angeboten . dorthin gibts auch einen schönen Fußweg , ca. 35 min. die Räume im Erdgeschoß haben nur winzige Fenster , in der ersten Etage ist's ein wenig besser. hohe Sträucher direkt am Gebäude und im Garten verschatten auch die schöne FrühstücksTerrasse und das Kaminzimmer . Pool und Liegebereich bekommen wenig Sonne und deswegen bleibt die ganze Hotel-Anlage sehr kühl . glücklicherweise funktionieren sowohl Heizung als auch warmes Wasser sehr gut . im TV sind viele deutsche Sender empfangbar . Buffet-Angebot morgens und Abendessen sind reichhaltig und ausgewogen. der gesamte Service ist freundlich , die Sauberkeit ist einwandfrei . wer aber besonderen Wert legt auf weite Aussicht und helles Ambiente und Sonnenschein, um sich wohlzufühlen , sollte woanders buchen.

Must go back again.

Once we arrived, difficult to find in the dark, we were greeted with a warm and friendly smile. After booking in we were given a quick tour of the facilities. Our room was very spacious and we had a good night's sleep. Wi fi was good in all areas of the hotel grounds. In the morning we could explore the grounds more thoroughly, the outside swimming pool with lots of relaxing space around it. There were two social rooms complete with comfortable chairs, games and heaters or log fire. One room had an honest bar the other a small kitchenette. Breakfast was a good continental style, with plenty of choice. You could eat in the corridor looking out at the enclosed garden or inside in the quaint dinning room. Evening meals could be ordered before 2pm and picnic lunches could also be ordered. We ate in a local restaurant 5 minutes away, cheap but reasonable quality. A car is essential, however, we used local buses for trips to near by places of interest. One member of staff's husband is a taxi driver and we used him several times.The staff could not be more helpful, always there to give advise and assistance. A wonderful Hotel Rural in a quiet area,fantastic.

Idyllisches kleines Landhotel

Wunderschöner Garten mit Zitrusbäumen und vielen Sitzgelegenheiten. Hübsche, rustikale Zimmer in aufwändig restauriertem alten Landgut. Mit Zentralheizung (sehr angenehm in kühlen Nächten im Winter). Hanglage in einem Weiler deutlich oberhalb San Mateo. Ruhige Atmosphäre. Frühstücksbüffet: gut - leider ohne regionale Käse- und Wurstwaren.

This hotel is located in the mountains of GC. It is an ideal spot to start hiking tours, to do some trips to other places on the island. The hotel is just beautiful - its garden is divided in three parts: a pool part, a part where you sit under trees, a part where they grow some vegetables etc. It is very well oganized, just 10 ten rooms and even if they are all booked, you find a place to rest, to chill out. Especially, I liked the different terrasses and places to sit and also the fact that the hotel offers a "salon" where you can prepare some own food in case you only booked breakfast. The rooms in this old house are of style: very well renovated, with love for the detail and a lot of non-ikea-furntiture. The village San Mateo is nice, but not necessesarily one where you constantly want to be - having a car or being willing to use (the excellent) public transportation is recommended to get to other places as well. By car, it takes you max. about 50-60 minutes to go to other little villages, towns or the beach.

Perfect place for rest and comfort

Not in the terrible touristic enclaves but near the friendly Canarians, their own villages and nature. When you're looking for such a place and use it as starting point to hiking this hotel Rural is the place to be.

Lovely hotel in tranquil location

As the name implies, Rural Hotel Las Calas is a small hotel with just 9 bedrooms in the middle of nowhere. Whether this is a good thing depends on the individual guest! The rooms are large and comfortable; either in the main building, or among the gardens - which are beautifully tended. The staff were consistently excellent, and the food was homely and pleasant. With few guests to support more staff, there is no staffed bar, although there are communal areas where you can enjoy sundowners if you buy drinks elsewhere.
