Casa Pakal is a little gem of a hotel with an excellent location close to the famous street Calzada de los Frailes. The staff are helpful, the rooms are large and comfortable, and the price was great.
Our room was clean and this is a short walk to the Calzada, which takes you to the convent at one end and the iglesia at the other, more or less. The staff is charming and friendly and speak English, for the most part. The pool is pretty cold, but a welcome relief after a hot day. The town of Valladolid is a must see, and staying here is a good way to experience the town. The “free breakfast” could be improved slightly, but the coffee is good.
A great find. We travel to Valladolid often and try different hotels each time to find our "perfect" return to place. We have just found it.
Great location. We walk to all our favorite restaurants from here. Great value. Super clean. Quiet at night. Good mattress. Breakfast is as advertised, coffee fruit baked goods. Lovely little wine cellar with some interesting and very reasonably priced Spanish wines.
No bottles of water in the room, nor drinking glasses. In a country where one can’t drink the tap water, you would think that there would be bottled water provided. Upon requesting, one could get water from a large jug in the kitchen. There was no hair dryer in the bathroom, so had to go to “front desk” to ask for one. The “standard” room was very bare bones, but clean at least. Staff was friendly.
This place is delightful. It’s in an excellent location, very close to Calzada de Los Frailes and an easy walk to the bus station. The rooms are huge and the bed was so comfortable. Hot water is reliable, though not always needed. Yes, the breakfast is small but so many other things make up for it, and there are plenty of cafes nearby. You can refill your water bottle in the kitchen. Staff are very helpful and friendly! Light does come through the curtains in the bedrooms, an eye mask is a good idea.
Good hotel, very well located next to the center but in a very quiet street. Beautiful spacious room, super clean. Basic Breakfast included but does not start early enough (even for coffee) for people planning to get to Chichen Itza at opening
This hotel is well located just a half block off the artisanal restaurant street. So many great choices for dinner. And two blocks the other way is the Convento de San Francisco where there is a sol y luminar every night.
50 pesos from the bus station
A good find, in a great location and lovely staff. Despite concerns from other reviews about cleanliness, we did not find it dirty at all.
Our main issue was the noise. Bring earplugs and you should be fine but be ready for barking dogs inside and outside of the hotel.
Check in was easy except the pressure I was given to pay in cash. The front gate is noisy when opened and closed at night. The hotel is small and sound carries really badly throughout it. Great location though, and very clean and comfortable.
We liked staying in Casa Pakal. It was right on the Calz. des Los Frailes and therefore close to numerous restaurants and the Parque Sisal, where there is a light festival every evening about the history of Valladolid. The room and the general area were very clean. It was also quiet in general. At night, however, the dogs from the neighboring properties barked. The breakfast is very little. A few rolls, coffee, fruit and if you're lucky, cake.

Good location - good be a touch confusing for some - but near nice restaurants, etc. Our room had a comfortable bed, the bathroom was serviceable. Communication could be better. They offer a breakfast and we were not told to pick up and wash our own dishes, but found out later when we got a talking to... They have a frig to keep food in and cooking and grilling facilities for guests to use. Also, upon arrival we were notified that we would have to pay cash - sorry for the inconvenience. But, overall, a good price for the room.
