"This was a special place! One of the first hotels in Vail, it oozes charm and history with lots of memorabilia throughout of its dashing owner Pepi, once a world class skier. Just steps from the gondola, we stayed at a riverfront room and enjoyed our continental breakfast each day as well as perfect access to Vail’s shops. We met Pepi’s (deceased 2019) equally impressive and warm wife Sheika, who was co-founder and still hands on day - since its founding in 1964. Bonus: the Austrian hotel restaurant “Pepi’s” had the best veal sausages and gravy I’ve ever tasted, and the food was delicious! Beds and sheets were supremely comfortable and overall we loved feeling like we were in a small alpine hotel in the mountains of Austria. Not super fancy but full of charm and warmth and friendly service. We will definitely be back! "

"Our room was tastefully appointed, and we have zero complaints. The staff was extremely professional and kind. The breakfast buffet was unbelievable. Highly recommend my only disappointment is that the beautiful European aesthetic was updated to be very modern. Most probably like that. I would’ve rather seen the old world Appointments to the lobby and felt that the contemporary light fixtures and art were pretentious and not in keeping with the old European Switzerland delight. "

"It’s funny, the hotel is old. Was undergoing some renovations, some things in our room were showing their age… but the hotel was still excellent. The room was comfortable, clean and had all the amenities. Great bed. Awesome water pressure in the shower. Beautiful view of the mountains and sunset from our balcony. I really loved this hotel. Also it’s right in the heart of Vail Village which was wonderful. Even with a little wear and tear… the property and staff still had a fancy / special / high level of service vibe. Great stay!"

They were helpful before our arrival and enjoyable and informative during our stay… very nice to see people enjoy their jobs. Umbrellas were available during those rainy moments…greatly appreciated. We will be back!!!"
