Lovely room, spotlessly clean, excellent breakfast. The hotel has different sites and I was in the one closest to Vadstena Slott. Great location and would recommend.
It was very nice old buildings, a little bit cold! But overall it was good! But dont go shopping on a sunday becuase almost everything is closed!
The food in the restaurant was amazing! Top notch!

Cool old rooms in a historic location
Wonderful historic location with lots to explore and see. A bit inconvenient that you are not housed near the reception, but a 7 minute walk away. At least we could just leave the key when we checked out, so we didn't have to return to the reception. Our rooms were in an old villa with amazing interior that felt 200 years old - very cool.
Our trip was probably not well matched to this hotel (which isn't their fault at all!). We checked in close to 9pm at the hotel restaurant as the front desk was closed. We missed out on some of the fine attractions of the hotel like the expansive sitting rooms in the main lodging building.
Room was exactly as pictured. Plenty of space, nice lake view (the next morning when we got up), excellent breakfast buffet.
The luxury beds were too soft for my liking. I get that they're meant to offer gentle conforming support, but I felt like more than one night might have not gone well for my back.
Floors are very old wood, so they're noisy. More nice carpets like what was under the desk, over where we put our feet down at night would be a big improvement. We woke each other up trying to tiptoe to the bathroom in the night. Creak-creak!

Did not visit the spa. Breakfast is awesome. More than enough to choose from. You will not leave hungry.
Fantastic location on the lakefront! Wonderful café with outdoor seating, offering a truly amazing selection of authentic Swedish pastries, cookies and cakes. The breakfast buffet was one of the most spectacular we have ever seen in Sweden during the past 25+ years, served in an ancient hall with arches and beautiful windows. And the free parking was right outside the door to our hotel building! FIVE STARS!!
A nice location. I was not overly happy with the check in . They could have given me more information. Not being from Sweden I didn’t understand everything. Ideas for food and drink would have been helpful.
An exceptional property with incredible service. Sofia went above and beyond to ensure our stay was spectacular! We cannot compliment the staff enough as it was truly a highlight of our Sweden tour. The restaurant offered one of the best meals we ’ve ever experienced. From the quality of the accommodations and hotel ambiance to the restaurant food and service, right down to the bespoke organic bath products, this was an a fantastic and memorable stay.
If you love old buildings and Swedish lakeside resort villages then this is the place for you! Beautiful and fascinating old building; we got “lake view” rooms which meant we were in the old convent. The rooms are well decorated with modern bathrooms; our only complaint was that the bed in a “small double” wasn’t very wide - about the size of a full size bed in the USA- so as two adults we didn’t have a ton of room. But it was worth it to stay here. We really loved the breakfast, served in what was originally a palace banqueting hall and was then used as the nun’s dining hall - you can’t ask for much more atmosphere than that. It was one of the better selections we’ve seen at breakfast traveling around Sweden. Would love to come back here!

Some of the buildings are wonderful, but management is awful. You’ll have to run up to a quarter to get to your room since the hotel buildings are scattered around the whole town. You have one key and you need it even to enter your building, difficult if you are two persons. Ten minutes walk for breakfast. Ten more to go to the gym, not open though, go to reception, oh you need a code, another five minutes walk. Ugly rooms. No phone on the rooms, if you want to get a feel for the absurdity of living here, call their number. You must wait five minutes more just to get someone answering. And the dinner… 350 kronor for a single course and it’s like an appetizer. What a shame.
