Read me read me if.......
If you LOVE the outdoors and are here in Norway to be part of it then don’t hesitate to book BASECAMP! You will be staying in a yurt/which is a strong tent. don’t worry you won’t be sleeping on the floor these are fancy yurts with electricity and beds 😀
Words honesty can’t describe how amazing this 3 day experience was for me and my two kids! We learned how to make a fire using products found in nature, we harvested mussels from the fjord and cooked them over an open flame, we hiked, kayaked, swam, ate plants, made friends.....it was terrific!
A few things to be clear on....base camp provides a pancake breakfast then you are on your own for other meals. You can rent a “kit” to cook your lunch and dinner but you have to bring in the food...or you can drive 15 minutes back to Ulvik and go to a restaurant.
There is a common, clean bathroom with showers and laundry away from your yurt....not attached.
Dress warm the weather varies dramatically over the course of a day/rain gear is a must.
You will love this once in a lifetime Norway experience!
