"Nice & quiet but very far from central Ubud."
Very friendly staffs. Shuttle service every 2 hrs to Central Ubud but I wish it runs more often like every hour.

"Luxury and everything at your fingertips."
What an amazing resort. We stayed a full week in an Ubud Chalet at Kamandalu and really enjoyed the pampering. The staff were super friendly and always ready to help if you needed anything. Our air conditioner wasn't working so well one night and they had a technician out and had it fixed within 20 min, which was a lifesaver on the 30 degree evening. The grounds were beautifully maintained and walking around the extensive property seeing the huge variety of plants and birds was such a joy. Both pools and other shared facilities were very clean and accessible. We had an hour treatment at the spa and they provided a very relaxing atmosphere and the quality of service and technicians were to a high standard. Can't wait for the next time we're in Ubud, we'd be happy to stay there again.

"Fantastic, quiet hotel in central Ubud! "
We booked a standard room which was nice but didn't have a balcony. So we asked if we could change the next day to a superior room with balcony. Cost us $25usd extra a night but well worth it. The view was amazing! We were on the 4th floor, overlooking the pool and it was about 60 steps up and down each time. Good to work off all that food and Bintang!

"Overall great experience"
Located just outside of the town but close enough to walk. 5min shuttle ride. Resort was beautiful. Very private. Not over crowded. Rooms w. private pool were great, especially for the price. Very good job at keeping the entire resort clean. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We had a little issue with our room and not only did they immediately give us a new room but they gave us an upgraded suite. Staff makes you feel very welcome and at home. Would 100% stay here again.

"Amazing resort on a beautiful mountainside!!"
We stayed as a couple in this amazing resort! We were welcomed with a warm greeting and the service was incredible. The entire staff was very accommodating and friendly! We stayed in Villa 105, which had a beautiful view of the mountain, lower resort and river. We were able to see rafters on the river :-) The grounds of the resort are absolutely stunning! So tropical and green...beautiful flora and fauna. It even has waterfall to enjoy :-) The Spa was amazing and so relaxing....a must try if you stay there! There are MANY stairs due to being on a mountainside but worth the view! The walk down to the riverside restaurant, lounging area and Yoga pavilion keeps you in shape. Such a peaceful and relaxing resort! They ran shuttles to town daily and arranged tours. We took a wood carving class and it was fun. They offer many other classes. Resort Manager Alit took the time to speak to us about the Balinese culture as did several other staff members. We enjoyed it. If we ever make it back to Ubud, we will definitely stay again and highly recommend this resort! It was nice to receive a thank you email from Alit after our departure. Thanks to all of the staff for giving us wonderful memories of Bali!

"Bliss! Peaceful, beautiful! "
The Chedi Club Tanah Gajah is on the edge of Ubud. The 20 villas are set on a beautiful and natural site with rice paddys, birds and a well manicured site. The service of the dedicated butler is fantastic and the meals and entertainment are wonderful. There are no additional costs sneaking onto your bill as the mini-bar is free and always stocked! The breakfast is delicious with any add-ons you would like just for the asking. The 5-10 minute shuttle into town is always available and they provide a cell phone for you to contact them for a return trip. It is truly a 5 Star hotel as it meets all of the quality and service requirements, but puts itself ahead of nearly every other 5 star by providing an attentive and personal touch to that service.

    About Ubud, Bali

Those with an interest in Balinese culture and arts should not miss out on visiting Ubud when staying on Bali. This quaint little town is surrounded by lovely landscapes with forests and rice terraces. It is home to a palace, royal tombs, and ancient temples. Ubud is also heaven for shoppers and it has a fabulous collection of artisans’ workshops.

    Don’t Miss

In town, Puri Saren Agung is a royal palace open to the public with pagodas, towers, ponds, and plants arranged around a courtyard. This is the best venue in town to enjoy a traditional dance performance. The Puri Lukisan Museum is nearby and offers an interesting collection of modern Balinese art. Among other facilities are Blanco Renaissance Museum and the House of Masks and Puppets.

Goa Gajah is five kilometres east of Ubud and an easy trip with a rented bicycle. One thousand year-old rock carvings guard the main cave and evil’s image guards the entrance. Lots of old statues and rice fields are also attractions here. A little farther away, the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary features three temples including the Great Temple of Death, tribes of long-tailed monkeys, and a deer enclosure.

    Restaurants and Bars

Ubud is a popular destination for tourism in Bali. This has led to the opening of many restaurants. These are often housed in traditional warung shacks. Diners can experiment with dishes such as babi guling suckling pig and blood sausage or stick with the old favourites of nasi campur, pizza, and pasta. A 22:30 curfew on loud bands and music means most visitors go to bed early. There are several bars to choose from, but they are designed for chilling out and relaxing.

Shopping in Ubud is a pleasure. People will find they are spoilt for choice with hand-crafted articles ranging from silk handkerchiefs and scarves to elaborate gold and silver jewellery. Shirts, shorts, skirts, and sarongs made from batik and cotton are cheap. Bags, baskets, wooden statues, paintings, and sleek kites are among other products available. There are lots of small shops and boutiques, but Seni Ubud Market is centrally-located and has a big selection in one place.
