"Lovely little annex, amazing space for the money and great location. All the staff were lovely and helpful. Breakfasts were nice, quick - the porridge is delicious. Only complaints are the fridge was dirty and there’s no blind over the glass at the door and the street lamp light gets through when you’re trying to sleep. Would stay again!"

"We were there 6 nights & it is by far the BEST guest house we’ve ever experienced. The house is the perfect mix of being historic but also updated, so it feels fresh. Loved the high pressure insta hot water & super comfy bed. Great location for walking to dinner each night. And it was the perfect home base for day trips to Dunnottar Castle, Balmoral, Blair Castle & Glamis Castle for the Highland Games. The gardens and view from the house are gorgeous. "I had a one night stay and needed basic accommodation, this sufficed. If staying be aware, I hadnt realised check in is before 7pm unless you advise (it was on the literature I just hadn't read it). My only hesitation to stay again is all the locks are electronically operated, and no one is on site. To feel safer as a lone traveller I would prefer to have a chain, or internal lock to the door in addition, in case the electrics failed at night and my room door would effectively be open."

We had the small plates for dinner because the restaurant was booked full but our small plate dishes were excellent. Quite frankly I would have the small plates for dinner rather than a full dinner. I would definitely go back to this place and recommend to friends traveling to Scotland"
