"***BED BUGS*** The location was excellent. The amenities were minimal - there wasn't a single hook on the walls for towels or clothing. The main issue was that we woke up with BED BUG BITES! We even saw them moving and crawling on the walls in the morning. We got out of there FAST and asked for a refund for remaining nights."

"Beautiful peaceful ryokan with the full Japanese experience. We loved both of the bookable bathhouses- great after a chilly day in the Deer Park. The kaiseki dinner in your own private adjoining dining room was beautifully presented and delicious. The staff were all very lovely. Highly recommend. "

"Check in was quick and easy. Shuta made check in fun and had a great attitude. The check in is right next to Kyoto station and the free shuttle to the Kuon was unexpected and appreciated. The property was clean, had everything we needed, and is only a few blocks walking distance to bus stops, both Kyoto subways, and markets and shopping. It was an excellent base of operations to conduct day trips from to see Nara, the north coast, and the sights to see around Kyoto. I will have no reservations...
