A very quiet and private escape location. An elegant former mansion converted to a wonderful inn with beautifully appointed rooms and common areas. We loved our stay!
This is an absolutely stunning spot to stay for a small town get away. Totally luxurious with every little detail well thought out. Definitely recommended!
Beautiful property just off the main street of Trumansburg. We stayed in a split-level "suite" which was perfect (minor inconvenience that the bathroom was downstairs and the bedroom upstairs). The property itself is a beautiful historic building, and is set up in a way that guests can enjoy the ground floor whilst the guest rooms are upstairs. A short walk to some lovely food and drink options on the main street (be aware nearly everything is closed on Monday's). Staff were polite and welcoming when we saw them though it was self check-in so we didn't see them much! Overall highly recommend and would love to come back!
The room had two twin beds- comfortable- amazing coffee, but no water upstairs to make coffee and our bath was down the hall. Very small room, but well decorated and beautiful art and style. I thought the listing said B&B- there was no breakfast at all. No human contact just a key in the counter.
Beautiful property perfectly located between Watkins Glen and Ithaca. Easy check-in, free onsite parking and wonderful communication. The estate itself is gorgeous, no detail spared, we stayed in the Classic Double/Twin room (2 beds). The space was great and came with a private bathroom within a couple steps of the room. Don't hesitate to book, we can't wait to come back. A true gem.
Beautiful room and home, very clean!! Loved the amenities too. Amazing bathroom. Only issue was that the walls were very thin and we could hear everything other guests were doing. Since there are no TVs in the rooms, it was so quiet you could hear a pin drop at times. We felt like we had to whisper inside our room. Perfect for a quiet getaway but bring earplugs just in case there’s a snorer in the next room.
We absolutely loved our stay here! The room was spacious and gorgeous! Loved having a soaking tub in our room, along with robes which was such a nice touch. The downstairs was absolutely beautiful as well as the outside. It was such a cute little spot in a very small town. The hotel is within walking distance to all the shops in town, sadly most were closed by the time we got there. It’s also just a short drive to Ithaca and some NY state parks which was the reach for our trip. I would definitely stay here again!
Excellent hôtel all around. The service was great. We asked ahead of time if we could check in early since we had a wedding at the same time as check-in. She kindly got us in early, and I cannot thank them enough for accommodating us. The room and hotel are gorgeous with so much character. It is one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed at, and I travel a lot for work. The location is good because it’s close to the little downtown of Trumansburg and maybe 20 minutes from Ithaca. I highly recommend!
Talk about decorating knowledge and attention to detail. 13 Elm gets an A+!You May just be inspired to enhance the interior of your home! Impeccable taste in furnishings and a warm welcome ambiance comes to mind . We want to return and will be sure to tell friends about our memorable stay. Being a piano player, the Grand in the living room is a special touch! Please don’t hesitate to book and create lasting memories of your own.
What an exquisite property— the grounds, the house, the decor! The room is luxurious but only lacks in having a table to set things on (the closet is very small, too), but the room makes up for it in every other way.
It was self check in with no host on site but communication was excellent and the next day, my husband ran into one of the managers, Nicole, who was a darling— so sweet and friendly and helpful.
Trumansburg is a charming, very small town and 16 Elm is one of the nicest inns we’ve ever stayed in-- a real treat! We would return in a heartbeat!
I liked the rest rooms, the area, the design of the hotel. The hotel is clean. Tea and coffee are available both in the room and in the rest rooms. the hotel has a wine bar, a music player with records. But breakfast is not included. I thought it was cold in the room. Wi-Fi networks were connected in as many as 10 times. the Wi-Fi password is inexplicably written by hand on paper. in my opinion, it is easier and better to print the WiFi password
The room we stayed in was very clean. The shower was not working properly and could not be repaired during our short stay. We had to walk across the hall and use the empty rooms shower.....very inconvenient. The robes provided were the size that a child would wear...bring your own. The in room coffee was wonderful and very tasty. The fireplace was very nice and cozy. The bed was very comfortable. It was advertised as a B&B...it was not. Breakfast was not prepared or served. Trumansburg was a nice little town. Many shops and restaurants were within walking distance.
Booked a room here as a stopover while visiting the area. I would definitely return. The house has been beautifully and thoughtfully restored and it’s clear that the owners thought about every detail. Check in was seamless and all the amenities were spelled out in the instructions. LOVED the record player in the library, as well as the honor bar. I stayed in Room 3, which was absolutely lovely. I enjoyed the fireplace, the jetted tub, and the heated floor. I think I may have been the only guest that night, and didn’t mind it at all. My stay was peaceful, relaxing, and luxurious. The outdoor fountain was even visited by a young doe while I was there. Perfect and quaint. Of note, check out what’s in the area in advance, as not all of the restaurants are open seven days per week. But that didn’t pose an issue for me at all.
This property is very clean and the decor was beautiful. The beds were very comfortable as well. We enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely stay again!
