Very nice hotel convenient for walking to town. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby. Noisy on marina side of hotel at night but beautiful view from rooms.

It's beautiful and for people attending the VIS conference it is extremely convenient. The staff are very helpful and the atmosphere is positive. However ... the world has moved along, and I would have appreciated a kettle to make tea and a coffee maker -- these are standard items in an upscale hotel. A mini fridge would be nice as well, and a source of revenue for the hotel. Having said this, I will book a room for VIS 2016!

The staff was great but hotel was very hard to find, no bar or restaurant except breakfast room. Room needs updating. Pictures are a bit misleading. There are better towns to make a central spot for touring.

Property def not 4 star. Not even a 3 star. It’s very run down and needs a major renovation. The only positive thing is the location in the harbor and walking distance to old city

THE SMELL!

A room right on the water overlooking the harbor? Sounds amazing! And it used to be a church? That sounds lovely? Well, the problem was that everything just smelled old, and mildewy, and just plain awful! It made it hard to sleep and even breathe in there. Otherwise, things were pretty nice but the smell utterly ruined the whole thing! It was very sad because we had such high hopes.

Lovely location - right on Trani harbour. Our room - 211- had a marina & cathedral view. The hotel is a bit tired. As per other reviews, the carpets should be replaced as they were badly stained in places. Appreciate the carpets might be “heritage” but they do need attention. The room itself was big. The windows are high (not floor to ceiling) so anyone of a small height may have problems looking out. The air con was very good - we needed it in the late August heat. It meant sleeping wasn’t an issue. There are some basic things the room could have benefited from such as tea & coffee facilities & a stocked mini bar. The fridge kept our personal drinks cool. The breakfast was good but not enough cooked items such as sausage & bacon - only scrambled eggs. The other choices were good & the cappuccino served by Alfonso was excellent - Alfonso deserves a mention. He spoke good English & gave us some useful tips. I’d also like to mention Carmen on reception. She was lovely & helped when we had a bit of a problem. Trani itself is lovely but probably only for a 2/3 day stay. There are not many English speaking people there & the tourist industry is prepped for Italian’s. On hindsight we should have done a “road trip” in Puglia, travelling south every 2/3 days & staying in different resorts.

Perfect location on the marina of Trani, with a stunning view of the whole harbor just out of the window. The building is what you would expect from a convent, the rooms are big, bathrooms are tired, the service does the job.
