We are an American couple in our 60s who came for a two-day, mid-winter stay after a memorable stay nearly 35 years earlier. The view of the snow and crater lake from our standard, but roomy, 5th floor room was breathtaking. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The buffet breakfasts and dinners provided a wide assortment of tasty choices. You HAVE to have their soft ice cream! Arranging the resort's free shuttle bus from Sapporo Station to and from the resort, by email, was simple and convenient. The men's public onsen baths on the 2nd and 9th floors, which included an outdoor bath on the 9th floor, were a great experience. I had to rely on a concierge at a Sapporo hotel to call this resort to reserve a PRIVATE onsen bath (great for couples, but apparently must be reserved before arrival) because there appeared to be no way to reserve the private bath other than by phone and my Japanese language skills were not advanced enough to do it myself. It would be perfect if it could have been arranged by email or through the resort's website as easily as it was to reserve a shuttle bus. Perhaps they will find a way to enable that someday. In conclusion, my memory of the beautiful facility, incredible scenery and helpful staff will stay with me forever. I cannot recommend this resort highly enough.
