This is a fantastic place to stay. Extremely quiet of an evening, which gave us both a lovely nights sleep. We had a meal with family there and it was amazing.

The rooms were very clean and pleasant. Brian and all the staff were great, helpful and nothing was a problem. ANOTHER WONDERFUL STAY. We will be back for sure.
Had a lovely stay for few days and good location to explore local area, especially Steam train with Staverton station walkable distance. Food really good and we were pleased with how well they catered for gluten intolerances. Really friendly staff.
Lovely stay at the Sea Trout, room was comfortable with plenty of room.
Food was amazing we had the Sunday roast and it was so good!
Staff are amazing, really friendly!
We will be back

Can’t fault our stay at the sea trout, the staff were so helpful and welcoming. The room was fine, not anything special but lovely and clean. We were staying in the area for a wedding, without a car it’s quite hard to get around although the hotel were really helpful with providing local taxis. If you’re staying here, would recommend eating in the restaurant, the food was amazing! Would recommend
Lovely country pub, with friendly staff. Food was very good and plentiful. We stayed in the annexe, and that worked well for us. Quiet area but handy to visit numerous places. Would definitely recommend!
Very friendly welcome, shown to room, reserved table for evening meal, quite, a good nights sleep.
Very good evening meal.
Unfortunately breakfast started a bit late to suit my onward travel needs
Received a warm welcome. Our room was warm, comfortable, clean and modern. We enjoyed a wonderful evening meal and breakfast. Would certainly stay again and recommend.
An absolute delight for my family to stay in Sea Trout Inn during the week leading to my wedding. The staff was incredibly sweet and so attentive. Will definitely love to stay here again in the future. Thank you so much!!
Staff were friendly and accommodating - excellent dinner with seasonal game as part of the menu, plus fabulous breakfast. Accommodating to have dog in the bedroom. no hassle and good value for money - bar, food and accommodation. Lovely part of the UK
I took a chance on the hotel on the basis of the reviews I read and was absolutely delighted that I did. One thing that I found very useful was the fact that it was bed only which gave me the option of either having breakfast or not depending on what I had planned for the day ahead.
We were staying here while attending a two-day Event at Dartington Trust. It was 5 minutes travel on interesting Devon lanes but worth the journey. We stayed in the annex so getting in and out at anytime was easy and problem free. Stayed for dinner and breakfast on Saturday and Sunday morning and the food was both imaginative and delicious. Definitely recommend the Sea Trrout if you want a comfortable and perfect hideaway

We wanted to enjoy my stay and felt confident we would as the reviews were extremely positive. Unfortunately we were disappointed and left a day early. The stairs, corridor and room was dark and depressing. I wish the smart repainted outside of this large building was matched with a good interior. If that doesn’t bother you at all then the staff are lovely!
The Sea Trout Inn provides good basic pub food in good quantities. The rooms are clean but basic, there is no airconditioning. The staff are friendly and helpful. I tried one wine, a Chilean Sav Blanc, which was so bad I didn't finish it. The beers are good! The surroundings are lovely Devon countryside but having to use the lanes to get to the place is enough to put me off going again.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
The property is just behind the River Dart so it is good to walk our dog in the morning. The room fits three of us ok but there was no room service ie change of towels and more coffee and milk on request only. When I informed the reception that our bin was full and we were given a couple of bin bags. The roads around the property are very narrow. Visitors will do well not to take the shortest route as you will end up backing up and down the hill when you encounter cars coming in the opposite direction.
All is all a nice area to stay for a couple of days.

Staff + Food Excellent
This is an Inn built in the 1500's, So the uneven floors in the upstairs accommodation are to be expected.
The Staff are very attentive and accommodating to one's individual needs. The food is excellent!
Downside :- The bedrooms are well overdue for a
decoration. Because of its age and probably graded listing, there is no double glazing. So the rooms overlooking the road, to the front of the premises, hear all vehicular traffic, much of which is agricultural tractors + trailers. A bit like the sound of tanks passing by.
I like real ale, and they had three types. Not shown on the pumps is the PRICE OF £5.30 a pint. I can only believe the price is not shown, because if they did, they would sell an awful lot less of it. I did have one pint which I enjoyed.
