"We stayed at the aptly named Hotel Alegría In late October and early November, 2025. It is very near all the important sites in downtown Lisbon, and we easily walked to the castle, the waterfront, and many other downtown places of interest. "Lovely property right in the middle of all the action. Staff were excellent - warm, welcoming and professional. Breakfast choices were plentiful - the Eggs Benedict very tasty - with fresh squeezed juices, and great coffee. Our highest recommendation is that we will stay there again on our next visit to Lisbon."

"Fantastic place to stay in the heart of Lisbon. The room was beautiful and clean, and the bed was the comfiest I’ve had in Europe. The free breakfast was an added plus, and the staff was very kind and helpful. There was even in unit washer and dryer and a stocked mini kitchen. I’d definitely stay here again! "

"A delightful stay! This hotel is a hidden gem! Once you walk into the hotel, you are walking back into another era, yet with all of the modern amenities of today. It is in a very convenient location. The history of the Palace is amazing. The 2nd-floor courtyard and the swimming pool were great places to escape from the crowds and action of the vibrant city."
