Obi Hostel is conveniently located near Bakurocho JR Station. It's new. The lobby has café, open to the public. Once you enter you can feel at ease, because it has a calm mood, even when there is a lot of people. The check in is quick and you head to your room, taking the elevator to the upper floors. I found the bunk beds spacious and comfortable enough. You can include breakfast for ¥500, which is a life saver if you don't know how to start your day. Showers are nice and efficient (complimentary shampoo in each one of them, if you forget yours, which is another life saver). The hostel has a dinning room in the second floor, which I didn't visit this time (but I will in my next stay), where you can get your meals. The hostel is clean all the time. In general, all the facilities of the hostel are really good.
Regarding the staff... Wow, I have to take may hat off: I was a little disoriented which a specific Simcard problem that I bought at the airport, but as soon as I checked in, Yuutaro, the clerk at the moment, offered me his help, with a smile. Next morning, Yuutaro was still helping me, along with Yo-yo (another staff member) which help me to get a refund. Next, I got to meet Shogo and Narumi, staff that was able to speak Spanish with me, and that blew me away! Today, when I checked out, I was able to ask for some advice from Azuza and Tomo, and they were very nice to me too. Overall, everybody went beyond their duty, which made my stay very very comfortable.
