"Great staff and great experience staying at The Leela Ashtamudi."

"Initially we booked a standard AC room but upgraded to a deluxe AC room on the 2nd floor which has been constructed newly. The room had ample space with a small balcony as well as with TV and a small storage cupboard. The room, attached bathroom-toilet was clean and the bed linen as well as towels were clean. Provision for tea/coffee in the room was available. A table chair would have been nice. Nearby dining options are available. The not-so good reviews are mostly due to the standard rooms on the first floor. Overall, a decent budget hotel close to the Kayamkulam train station with friendly front-desk staff who can arrange transport to visit nearby places."

"We had an excellent stay at this property, the rooms were very clean and well maintained. There was an initial issue with one of the ac’s but they immediately gave us an additional room. "Great place, quiet, secluded beach, close enough to shops and restaurants at Varkala Beach- 100-200 rupees in a tuk tuk. Hotel staff go out of their way to help you, they arranged our transport wherever we wanted to go and prices were fantastic"

"We had a lovely stay in one of the AC rooms, which had its own small seating area and was very private and peaceful. A haven from the busy Varkala. The gardens here are beautiful and well kept, the staff all sweet and attentive and helpful, available 24hr. The breakfast included at their restaurant nearby was also great. But it was quite loud at night due to neighbouring properties, but maybe due to being there in peak season! "
