It was ok for 1 night, kitchen closes quite early so couldn't have dinner, breakfast in the morning with very limited choice (no fresh vegetables, no fish option, basically only cheese, ham and fried egg)

A grand old Lady well past her prime
Fletcher needs to invest and update the hotel. The room was adequate but carpets worn and scruffy, curtains had bald spots, bathroom OK, no amenities, no coffee maker. Restaurant thrives on past reputation but when we were there a party in the other room kept us waiting for dinner for over an hour and when it arrived, it was cold. Waiting staff is incredibly sweet and helpful and that was a nice plaster on an otherwise unremarkable stay. Wassenaar is a beautiful area but isolated. A restaurant nearby called Meijendaal has great Dutch specialties and great walks. Hotel does provide bikes for the athletic.

It was a nice stay. The rooms were spacious and clean. However there were no tea and coffee supplied in rooms.
