Needs updating
Downstairs is quite modern. The staff were great. The room was very dated. The furniture was damaged, chunks out of the door. No tiles in the shower. It looked like a quick and cheap renovation had been done with pieces of wood covering holes in the door. No aircon so the room was far too hot.

Mediocre hotel. I mean, it is not bad, but it isn't nice either. It needs an overhaul to stay up to par with more modern hotels. Just to stay a night over is adequate, but I would not stay for a couple of days. The best feature is its position close to the beach.

Our stay.
A bit slow at reception as he was on his own with 4 people waiting. Spacious warm room overlooking the dunes. Had a really great dinner in the evening with clean well prepared food and good service. The only complaint I'd have was that the water pressure was almost non existent and virtually dribbled out of either the shower head or the basin and although they advertised electrical adapter available for my UK charger, they couldn't find one after all so I couldn't use my computer! Great location and we may well go back there when it's not blowing 130K winds which it did last night!

Relaxing Dutch hotel
Walking distance to the beach and shops, staff very helpful and speak English. Love buffet breakfast, fireplace and so comfortable bed.

Not as friendly as last year!
We had a great experience with the hotel last year... staff wise..not this time. Attendant at breakfast used bare hands when handling the cheese and cold cuts, while guests were supposed to use tongs. Loaves of bread did not have napkins over them, so when you slice them you don't have to touch them. I made the attendant aware of that, but next day the napkins were missing again. Guests were not allowed to sit by the big windows (view) but were herded together, so you had to sit by the tables where big groups were gathered. Dark rooms, bathrooms flood from the shower wall, narrow duvets, lack of toiletries...same as last year and obviously feedback doesn't change anything.

Staff is excellent
We stayed here 5 nights, end of March and the hotel was not at full capacity. Room is in need of a major renovation: holes in floor, bathroom floor floods after a shower, sink that doesn't drain. Beds are comfortable and WIFI is excellent, you will never lose a connection. Breakfast is the best part of the stay there, plus the staff....who will bend backwards to make your stay a great experience. It was tough to find a parking spot, I can't imagine what that is like in high season. Also, hotel has no air conditioning which will make the rooms unbearably hot in summer. Would We go back....? Yes, but only in off season

Great location, but room was not really clean, walls were dirty and stained, patched up bathroom door. Hotel requires major renovation.

First class staff
The outstanding feature of the hotel was, in my mind, the outstanding service provided by the staff at all levels - even down to a translation service and a brief language course!! It would have nice were there to have been a mini-bar to provide cold drinks or an ice dispenser close to the room. Monster is a wonderful town with a full range of shops and in easy walking distance of the hotel - perhaps it could be featured in the hotel directory. Despite the weather we had a most excellent holiday and an excellent introduction to Dutch hospitality.

Senior opinion: ideal for beach walking
The modern styling of rooms and restaurants may be appealing to younger people, for the elderly the rectangcular flat washbasin, single chair in the room, the double nordic cover (in stead of two separate duvets) is highly impractical. Chairs too deep for smaller people. The presentation of the meals is very sofisticated and nice. High quality menus, but only for once, not enough choice for more occasions. There is Insufficient lighting in rooms and restaurants for readers.

Met 5 personen de suite gehuurd. Flesbubbels met welkomstkaart op tafel. Geweldig uitzicht over de zee en Ter Heijde en..... Mooie ruime kamer, 2 slaapkamers en een bedbank. Separaat toilet. koffie en thee aanwezig. Vriendelijk personeel. Fietsen gehuurd voor een schappelijke prijs. Het eten in het restaurant viel ons tegen ,maar smaken verschillen natuurlijk. Ontbijt was goed.

From my point of view does the price payed (150€ per night) does not relate to the overall condition of the hotel room compared to other 4-star hotels (cleanliness, furnishing, modernity, technical equipment). Breakfast is not that recommendable for Vegans or Vegetarians as they announce at their website… However three positive points were friendly hotel staff, the 2min walk to the beach and parking were for free

Was oud maar schoon op de brand trappen na. Daar komt de kalk van de muren. We hadden een kamer met duinzicht en balkon geboekt . Deze was helaas niet voor handen. Wel kamer met duinzicht gekregen en de mogelijkheid om balkon op andere verdieping te gebruiken

Personal war Top und Hilfsbereit Wer Hunde hat sollte vorher das Hotel kontaktieren obwohl in der Webseite Haustiere erlaubt sind dies gilt anscheinend nur für bestimmte Zimmer? und natürlich sind Haustiere kostenpflichtig wie in anderen Hotels auch. Aber es wurde alles geregelt und der Service allgemein war Top
