"The “lake view” ended up being a sliver of water seen between trees. The jets on the tub have not been cleaned properly and had visible dirt around them. Also the grout on the tiles surrounding the tub could use a better cleaning. The rest of the room was clean and comfortable. The setting, aside from not having the lake view we expected, was pretty and peaceful. Bonus, Sitka coffee is only a 5 minute drive."

"Love the location and the nice amenities in the suite. Great staff and easy check-in and check-out. This unit was older and had more wear and tear than the last one we stayed at. A few little issues, like with toilet and coffee maker, but overall a nice experience."

"We have been coming to this resort for many years. This was a last minute trip and there were not a lot of vacancies, so we took what we could get. The condo was lovely, but involved going up four flights of stairs with our bags. We are 73 (me) and 80 (my husband), both very active and fit, but that was a bit of a strain. We also chose the property because we have always liked the food; however, the restaurant was closed the day I we arrived. Otherwise, the space was clean, quiet and the view was beautiful. Would definitely stay here again, but would check out restaurant days/times and get a room that didn't require so many stairs."

"Absolutely 11/10 experience. One of the most thoughtful hotels I’ve stayed at. It’s perfectly cozy while also feeling elevated - you can tell that there has been extra thought and care put into every detail. Highly recommend hitting up the communal bonfire - don’t be shy about it! Some of our best memories during our three night stay were meeting strangers at the fire pit and laughing and telling stories (while making s’mores from the kits provided by the staff!). Thank you for a beautiful and memorable stay - we will be back!"

"This was our first stay here and it was very good! The breakfast was decent and well maintained. The staff was helpful and the room was clean. I'm still a bit shocked by the price of rooms per night and add on fees, but I realize this seems to be normal now up and down the North Shore. But it's apparent this property is trying to draw in more kids and families here offering family fun things to do and that is appreciated. We stayed here because it was close to our hiking plans. We would stay here again! But look at deals - if available!"

"This property is awesome. Comfortable bed, great shower, wonderful view of Lake Superior. Private access to the beautiful rocky shoreline. Pretty fowers and bushes and a wood fire sauna. Nice area by the water for a fire or picnic. Did I mention clean windows!!! Everything was very well organized!!"

"We have been staying at Cliffdweller over the past 10 years. I have to say I am a little disappointed in the direction it’s heading. It felt much more person with the care initially. But now it’s just like any other budget hotel. The view is great. But breakfast not until 8? Way too late. And not much to speak of. It’s lost its charm which is what made it special. For the price it should be better."
